"you didn’t fuck anything up that night” the blonde projected ….
"yes I did”
"no … you didn’t” the blonde insisted …. “avoiding me afterward ….. that’s what got me all confused”
"I know … It was selfish …. I’m sorry” the brunette commented … squirming … uncomfortable … “I was confused myself …. I had all those feelings that I shouldn’t have … and I thought I could wish them away” she continued …. throwing her hands into the air …
"feelings?” the blonde asked softly …
"yes … feelings” the brunette confessed … rubbing her eyes …
"what kind of feelings?” the blonde asked in a softer voice …
"I don’t know … the type that I shouldn’t have for a patient … and shouldn’t have bothered you with”
"who told you you bothered me? … that night was amazing … you were amazing … for years I’ve been seeing all kinds of doctors … some were too friendly … and some were too ignorant … but you … you honestly cared … that night you made me feel safe … that I can trust you” the blonde confessed … “but then …. you disappeared on me”
"I didn’t mean to …. you have a lot on your plate Tina …. I didn’t want you to have one more thing to worry about … I’m your doctor … I care about you … even more than I should … and no matter what happens you need to know that you can trust me … not because I wanted anything from you … and I was afraid kissing you might have sent that wrong message … you can trust me Tina …. as a doctor”
"a doctor?” asked the blonde … hiding an involuntary disappointment …
"yes … a doctor … that’s what you need me to be … and I won’t let you down”
"so you think I should do the surgery?” asked the blonde in a barely audible voice …
"I still can’t answer this for you … no one can but you” the brunette whispered ….
A moment of silence …. then … the brunette was first to speak …
"If you do the surgery … you’re heart will stay healthy …. your circulation will improve … you’ll be stronger … healthier … and much more active”

I’m really glad Bette got to talk to her. I still feel sad that Tina seems to be all alone in this. I hope she decides to do the surgery.
What a nice way to deal with the conflict. Bette was able to be caring and professional.
I suppose she has redeemed herself somewhat. I think Bette should have told her that she wanted to start seeing her after the surgery or after she has made up her mind about the surgery, whichever she chooses. Hopefully Tina will have the surgery and have a better life and a longer life medically. If Bette is as good as her reputation and I’m sure she is then Tina will be in very safe hands and will have a better life afterwards. Maybe it is better to tell Tina she wants to date her after the surgery rather than before, it would probably put too much pressure on her. Great update. Thanks for posting.
I hope Tina takes Bette’s offer and calls her. She seems alone and frightened. She could do with a friend.

Gosh this was so difficult to read, but I am so glad that Bette went to see and talk with Tina. Tina needs Bette love and support. I hope Tina will know about Bette’feelings towards her before the surgery as this will help her go through it. Thank you for posting.
