Do you want to Bette? You Bette Your Sweet Little… (FEB Fan Fic Challenge) Ch. 2

Alice checks the address to make sure she’s at the right house. She pulls up to the curb, takes her keys out of the ignition and notices a muscular guy in a wife beater with his arm around a very skinny young looking black haired hippieish girl.

    Alice: Cute couple.

Alice checks her makeup in the rearview mirror, grabs her bag from the backseat and the bottle of wine from the passenger seat.

Alice: I’m about to get funky with LA’s hottest lesbian. OK. Be cool. (pepping herself) I’m cool. I’m cool. Cool as fucking Hades.

Alice knocks on the front door.

Inside Bette has been taking carryout out of paper bags when she hears a knock at the door. Bette goes to the door, opens it, and is greeted by a smiling nervous Alice.

    Bette: Hi Alice.

Alice: (shyly) Hi. I brought a bottle of wine.

Bette puts her hands on Alice’s waist, leans in and gives her a kiss on the cheek, takes the bottle of wine.

Bette: Thanks, come in. Make yourself comfortable. Let me take your jacket. Alice hands Bette her jacket.

    Alice: Ok.

Bette: You can go ahead and have a seat in the living room. I’ll pour us a glass of wine.

Alice: Thanks. This is a really nice place. Did you decorate yourself?

Bette: (from the kitchen) Yeah. So how long have you been working for LA Weekly?

Alice: Not long. About a year. Not even.

Bette: Have you lived in LA long?

Alice: Sort of. My mother’s an actress. You know how that goes.

Bette: Yeah. So you’re pretty familiar with the whole West Hollywood scene?

Alice: Yeah. I hang out at the Planet a lot.

Bette enters the living room with two glasses of wine.

Bette: I’ve driven past there. Always wanted to go in but I haven’t had a chance. I hope you like vegetarian food. I got carryout from the new place that opened up around the corner.

Bette sits down on the couch next to Alice.

    Alice: The Garden.

Bette: Yeah. Their food is supposed to be really good.

Alice: They’re on one of these stupid lists we do. One of the ten best vegetarian restaurants for people who wish they lived in Seattle or something like that.
