Destiny in a Mechanics shop (pt 13) I love you

“Oh Tina.” She heard a familiar voice say. Tina slowly turned, her eyes still gazing at the floor, she could see the woman was wearing King G boots and faded denim jeans, but that was it. Tina sniffled again, trying not to show as much emotion as she first did.

A hand suddenly appeared under Tina’s face, which then cupped her chin and was gently pulled up to the woman’s eye level. She saw Bette’s beautiful smile and her eyes were showing as much emotion as Tina’s. Tina whipped her head to the right, realizing Bette’s grip on her chin.

    “Tina.” Bette whispered.

“Go away.” Tina’s voice was agitated and angry.

“But Tina.” Bette’s voice sounded so alluring and calm.

Again Tina said, “Go away!” only more sternly this time.

    “No.” Bette replied.

“Just leave me alone.” Tina screamed, turning away from Bette, looking at the fluorescent green hand dryer.

‘Tina please talk to me.” She heard Bette say.

“Why should I, all you going to do is hurt me again.”

“No I wont, I promise… Now please Tina, talk to me.”

Tina slowly turned around, looking straight into Bette’s eyes. “I can’t talk to you.”

    “Why not?” Bette questioned.

“Because, nothing would change if I did talk to you.”

“Well how do you know that?”

Tina sighed. “Bette…. I… I miss you… It’s been eight friggen months and I still miss you. Every morning I wake up to you whispering my name… I find myself thinking about you, every spare minute that I have… And the… the worst thing is…” Tina looked so helpless, so fragile. “The worst thing is” She repeated, “I can’t have you.” As soon as the words were out in the open, Tina’s head fell, once again she stared at the floor.

Hearing Bette sigh seemed to make the matter a little worse. Tina couldn’t take it anymore, she ran out of the bathroom, running straight into Joel.

    “Tinnyie…Whats wrong…Are you all right?”

Tina looked at Joel’s belt buckle, nodding her head, then shouting over the music. “I’m just going to go outside and get some fresh air.” Tina grabbed her purse and headed for the door. Once outside, Tina in hailed a big breath of L.A. air, trying to calm her nerves, before she did regurgitate the three Scotches that she had. Again taking a deep breath, Tina closed her eyes, listening to the sirens and cars that passed her. Then she heard footsteps behind her.

“Tina.” Bette screamed. “Please Tina listen to me.”

    “And why should I?”

“Because deep down inside you want to know the reason…Why…Why I didn’t hold off for you.”

Tina shoulders rose and fell, still not turning around she replied. “Ok then…Say what ever you want.”

“Christina… Tina… The reason why I went out with someone else, is because you never called me, never wrote or even send me a txt msg… How was I supposed to know that you were in love with me? I wanted you so bad, for months…Yet when you didn’t reply to the letter or the song that I sent to you..I…I thought that you didn’t want me…Then weeks later you show up on my doorstep, proclaiming your love for me? What was I supposed to do? Turn around to Alice and say, sorry babe times up, I want Tina.” Bette’s voice was becoming increasingly louder every time a new sentence came out of her mouth.

Tina still with her back turned to Bette as silent tears streamed down her pale cheeks, didn’t really know what to say next. A sudden serge of anger stirred in Tina. “Ok Bette fine…I’m sorry that I took so long to tell you that I loved you…I’m not like you…I’m not confident in myself and what makes matters worse, is that I’ve never been with a woman before…I was so confused and alone…I was so scared of what the next step would require…I hate myself for leaving it, like I did.”

Tina started to storm away, yet Bette grabbed her wrist and turned her around, immediately pressing her lips onto Tina’s. Tina didnt know what to do; she was in shock, yet the kiss was so good, that she never wanted it to end. Bette licked Tina’s top lip, before asking with her tongue to protrude into her mouth. Giving a moan of approval, Bette’s tongue pushed into Tina’s mouth, exploring every nock and cranny. Tina wrapped her arms around Bette’s neck, as Bette wrapped her arms around Tina’s waist. There simple kiss, turning more passionate every second. After a few minutes of heated passion, Tina pulled away and stared straight into Bette’s eyes. Shock and love pulsated through her body.

“I love you.” Tina whispered. Tina never noticed that she said those words to Bette, she was still in shock.

Bette’s pushed a tiny strand of Tina’s hair behind her ear. ” I…I love you too.”

At the sudden realization of what just happened. Tina pushed Bette away, covering her shocked open mouth, from Bette, so that she wouldn’t see. “What have I done? I’m with someone.” Stepping away slowly, Tina turned and started to run across the street and around the corner. Hearing Bette’s voice screaming her name echoed as she ran down the street and out of sight of Bette. After getting around the corner, she hailed a taxi “42 shibby drv please.” Tina almost sounded like she was pleading to the cab driver to get her away from what just happened. As the cab drove away, Tina looked at her hands, which had started to shake. ” Oh God.” she whispered. She then placed a shuddering hand to her lips, remembering Bette’s soft nature at the start of the kiss. Shaking her head at the thought, she then rested it on the back of the seat and looked straight up at the vinyl, not saying a word as one small tear trickled down her face.
