“I’ll see”. Alice kissed Dana’s hand lightly and lay down again signalling that this conversation was well and truly over for now. Dana just carried on as if nothing had happened, picking up yesterdays clothes and tossing them into the laundry basket. She hurriedly dressed into a pair of running shorts and a tank and within a minute or so was out of the bedroom and out of the front door hoping a long run would ease the slight pain of rejection.  

The Planet

Alice had just left the Planet after a two-hour talk with Bette and was finally feeling self assured again. She had told Bette about her reaction to Cooper’s email, how she had been hurtful to Dana and how she had marched into work that day and told Cooper she was sorry she couldn’t attend. Bette had had mixed reactions at Alice’s story believing that although Alice had the capability to do the right thing in the end, she often let her big mouth get in the way before coming to the correct decision. However disappointed she was in the blonde, the older woman allowed Alice to talk non-stop and listened intently before delivering her opinion and the best advice Alice received all week.

‘Alice I cannot imagine being in your predicament right now but if I were you I’d realise that some making up is in order. I think you should focus your attention on Dana right now. Think of this as a small set back, a temptation that you have overcome and leave it be where it belongs…in the past.’ Bette sighed heavily before taking a drink out of the oversized coffee mug.

‘I know, you’re totally right. I don’t know what I was thinking, I just…I just really needed to hear some level headed advice on this…I’ve been going crazy thinking I’m falling out of love or something,’ the blonde replied leaning her cheek against her palm with her elbow on the table.
