Tina was in her office at her computer,staring off into space. She was supposed to be working on the copy for the first series of commercials. But as hard as she tried, she could not concentrate. She had set a goal for today and she was determined to achieve it. She typed a few more words before the phone rang. She wasn’t surprised when Helena asked to see her in her office.
Tina knocked and entered the office. Helena was seated behind her desk. “We need to talk Tina”
Tina wasn’t sure she was ready for this confrontation. “All right”, she said , “I want to talk to you too”
“Tina, I know you may not want to hear this right now,but I’m sorry. I’m sorry that you had to find out the way you did. I apologize.”
“Sure, you are sorry, you are sorry that I found out at all.” Tina sneered.
“Dammit”, Helena cursed softly. Rubbing her temples in extreme agitation. “You are always so automatically defensive, you just won’t try to understand, will you?”
“Understand?” Tina asked on a high note. I find out that my friend was blackmailed by my ____by my _____was blackmailed into giving me a job” ,she paused to draw a breath, “and I don’t understand.?____you lied to me about my job dammit”
“You’ll do a good job ,Tina,no mat__”
“You’re damn right I will … I have!” Tina exclaimed . “ I’m more determined than ever to do a terrific job. I’ll show you and Miss Porter that she doesn’t have to keep blackmailing you, because I’m perfectly capable of doing a good job. For whatever her reasons, she landed me a peach of a job. I thank you, Miss Peabody. But I’m just another employee now. And from here on, I fly alone. If I make it , great. If I don’t, then it will be my own failure. But I want no help from you, or Miss Porter.” Tina enunciated the last ten words precisely, defiantly.
“You’re mistaken if you think I would have it any other way, Tina” Helena said quietly.
“Good,just so we understand each other” Tina said, just as quietly. “If we’re done here I have to get back to work.”

hmmm does seem like Bette is doing all the chasing…so ball is in Tina’s court now..
Oh, foxy, thanks for a great post. After Bette said, “The next time, if there is one, you’ll have to come to me.”, will Tina go after Bette??????
I know that Bette’s done a lot of the chasing, but she can’t blame Tina for being scared. I think that might a been a miscalculation by our Ms. Porter. Tina could easily be too terrified to keep fighting for them if she doesn’t have a reminder of how happy Bette can make her. After all, her last memory of the relationship would be that this woman wasn’t truthful all along, from the start by getting her the job and in the end by not telling her about Kelly. But they’re meant to be, so maybe Tina will step up. Thanks, foxylady! PPS

Dang it, someone please shake Tina or even Bette for that matter. Tina loves Bette but Bette may have just iced their relationship for good. I hope that Tina has the resolve to let Bette back into her life.
I think Bette is being a bit harsh but I can see why she feels that way. She’s never had to work so hard at getting a woman..LOL Tina does need time but they should do this together.
