    “Al look at me” Dana lifted Alice’s chin. “Do I get any say in it?” Dana asked with a smile. “Al I like you a lot… I want to get to know you better.”

    “I do to.”

    “So why don’t we go back to my place.. and see where this goes.”

    Alice flashed a smile and nodded.

    “And one more thing”

    “What”

    “Please don’t think that just because I am a doctor I’m one of those stuffy know it alls. I really can’t stand them.”

    * * * * *

    “Urg… who in the hell is calling at this hour?” Bette grumbled as she tried to reach for her phone on the night stand.

    “Hello” Bette said the sleep still evident in her voice.

    “Bette… how are you feeling… I hope I didn’t wake you.”

    “It’s Ok Joyce… I’m feeling fine.. thanks”

    “Good.. good.. it the little woman there with you?”

    “Yeah”

    “Good put me on the speaker phone”

    “Um Ok” Bette rolled back over to wake Tina. “T.. honey Joyce is on the phone… she needs to talk to us.”

    “Huh?”

    “Sweetie.. it’s Joyce.. you need to get up.”

    “What’s wrong?” Tina asked as she sat up in the bed.

    “I don’t know honey.. she wants to talk to both of us.” Bette fumbled with her phone trying to turn the speaker phone on.

    “Ok Joyce.. we are both here.”

    “What’s wrong?” Tina asked nervously.

    “I’m sorry If I scared you.. nothing is wrong. I just got notification from the family court judge and I figured you would want to know right away.”

    “Of course!” Bette added.

    “Ladies you are in the clear… The judge dismissed his case… with a stern warning that should he try this little game again he will be charged with perjury.”

    “Oh my god baby.. it’s over it’s really over.” Tina’s voice was shaking and the tears flowing freely down her cheeks.

    “It’s finally over T… he can’t hurt us anymore. Ever! I won’t let him hurt you T.. or the girls. I promise!” Bette and Tina shared an embrace, a celebration of the news they just received.
