    Complications, Chapter 8

Shane pulled up her pants, pulling the zipper up to the button, before turning and pulling on her shirt. She started to head towards the door, but paused, noticing the one picture of her and Carmen that wasn’t smashed or ripped. She walked over, picking it up and grinning.

Carmen walked over to the CD player and turned it on. Shane situated herself at the foot of their bed. The song “Naughty Girl” by Beyonce came on and Carmen turned to face her lover, biting her lip and slowly pulling down the zipper of her sweatshirt, throwing it off to the side. Her hips moved slowly and seductively to the beat as she pulled off item after item of clothing just slow enough to tease. She was down to her bra and panties when she straddled Shane, letting her girlfriend’s hands run over her body. She leaned down and kissed her, pushing her back onto the bed, Shane’s hands running over smooth skin to grip her ass. Just then, the door busted open, and there was a large flash before either of them could turn to block themselves. Alice slammed the door behind her and ran to show her friends the picture. Carmen just laughed, burying her face in Shane’s neck.

    “Didn’t you lock the door?”

    “Apparently not.”

Shane smiled. That was a good day. That was it. She had to do something. She was tired of memories turned bittersweet by her dumb actions. Well, if actions got her into this, how could words get her out? It was time to do something about it. But she needed a plan first.

Carmen bit her lip, focusing on the insurance claim form in front of her. She filled out the last blank, signing it, and handing it to Kit to look over. Kit smiled, nodding.

    “You got it, baby girl!”

Carmen squealed, and jumped up, hugging her friend.

”Dios Mio! That was so much harder than I had expected!”

“Yeah, I know. But, you’re fully trained now. I’m satisfied.”

”Yeah, now that I’ve filled out 10,00 forms.”

    Kit laughed.

”Well, I don’t trust just anyone with the Planet. It’s my baby.”

“By the way, what are you doing about the real baby?” Carmen asked, taking a sip of her coffee, frowning when she found out it had gotten cold by now.

    1. “Writing is like war…” I’ll buy that. I know when I want to write it’s usually a big honkin’ struggle to find the right words. Sometimes I’ll get a few paragraphs then realize it’s not what I wanted at all and have to scrap the whole thing. But I don’t think anybody ever died from writing.

    2. I like your Jenny pretentiousness much more than the show’s. And I love my Sharmen, so I can’t wait to see what Shane is planning. (And I didn’t mind the flashback either. I’m hoping some of your sexual frustration will come out with these two in the future).
