It’s my birthday today! I’m becoming 15! Alice, Dana, Shane and our new friend, Marina are coming to my party. Even Kit and P-J are coming back home tonight. They are bringing their boy-and girlfriend, Angus and Gigi. I’ve never met them so I hope I will like them. Dusty is coming to. I don’t know what is wrong with Bette the last two days. She is acting distant all day and at night she snuggles up to me. I don’t get it. It’s 5PM and in half an hour everyone should be here. Helena, Dusty, Bette, Alice, Shane, Dana, Kit, and Marina are sitting in the garden when I walk out. Bette stands up and I swallow. She is wearing a short red dress and she looks gorgeous.

Bette: Hey, birthday-girl.

I smile as Bette hugs me tight and kisses me on the cheek.

Bette: Come sit with us, Tee.

I walk over to my friends and say hello. Helena is sitting on Dusty’s lap and they are holding hands. Alice and Dane are just holding hands. I look at Bette and I wished we could do the same. Be together.

Alice: PRESENTS!!!!!

Bette and I look at each other and roll our eyes.

I: Let’s see.

Alice gives me the present. I open it and laugh. It is a big red button with ‘BULLSHIT’ written on it. The other thing in the box was emergency underwear.

Alice: You like?

I: It’s great, Al.

Dana: Not my idea, TK.

I: I know Dane.

I got a few gift cards and a cd.

Bette: I will give you my present tonight, at twelve o clock.

I smile at my best friend.

I: Okay.

I see Bette looking at her sister but she doesn’t say a thing. Mom walks out of the house.

Doria: You want to see your present from Melvin and Me?

I: Yeah!

Melvin walks out of the house with a box in his hands. He places it in front of me.

Melvin: Happy birthday, Tina.

I: Thanks, Melvin.

I open the box and I look with big eyes

I: A new laptop!

I look super happy.

I: Thank you so much!

I hugged Melvin and my mom.
