    Collision Course 4.42

So I didn’t have time to answer all the cool comments, and yes, I’m rocking the cradle a bit, ready, stead, go….  Next… Miami….

    Collision Course 4.42

“I see that you are serious about leaving?” asked Darci Haim from the doorway, arms crossed, face virtually unreadable.  Sam looked at her, Darci’s pretty dark eyes smiling, even when her face was still.

“I know I need my antibiotics, I know all that lovely stuff, I work here, Darci.  I also know that I don’t want to waste one more minute of my life, so why don’t you let me outta this place?” asked Sam with a winning smile.

“The numbness won’t go away,” said Darci suddenly and Sam’s head snapped up, giving Darci a cool look.  “Yes, I knew.  The MRI showed a few bone fragments pressing against the nerves…”

“Not bullet fragments?” asked Sam with a thoughtful look on her face.  That was hopeful, even thought bones could do as much damage as steel.

“You’ve heard of Derek Shepard?” asked Darci with a serious look on her dark face.

“I have,” said Sam looking at the door as Jayden knocked on it lightly, her eyes seemed troubled and Sam wasn’t sure what could be troubling Jayden, save for the fact that Sam had been shot.

“He’s going to squeeze you in for an appointment, he’s done several successful surgeries that are similar to this one, one of them not so long ago on Preston Burke,” said Darci staring hard at Sam.  “Whom I heard you worked under for a short time at Seattle Grace?”

“Preston… he emailed me after he was shot, we… we played together also, me on the piano and him on the…  anyway,” said Sam her voice filled with turmoil about Preston.  So many time she’d wanted to call him, tell him things that he should have known, but Sam hadn’t.

“I’m sure that you being a friend of Preston’s was one of the reasons that Shepard is giving you the time of day, that and you’re a doctor,” said Darci.  “Sam, don’t lose hope, you can still be a doctor even if the numbness is there,” reminded Darci.

Can someone please tell Shane there’s never an argument against showering, especially when TWO people say that you reek, ugh. O.K., What must Jo do for Amy? Don’t start making me feel torn about who Jo should be with. Luvin’ it as always.
