Forty Seven stories high above the bustling traffic, perched precariously on the edge of the rooftop, was Samantha Leigh Vance. Grey eyes sullen, red with tears, she was wearing her blood stained jeans, under it, her hospital johnny, and Melanie’s leather jacket pulled tightly around her.
The soft warm breeze whipped at her short dark blonde hair, pushing her gently back to the safety behind her. Instead, Sam eased forward, the tips of her sneakers edging closer to the brink of no return.
The sun was rising, again, and for Sam, it would be the last time. Everything was gone, there was nothing left to live for. Desperation clung to her, sweeping her up into its cloak of utter darkness, pushing her against the wind that had a mind of its own.
Standing, looking down again, the world small moving ants below her. Spreading her arms wide, hoping to hell that CJ was in fact waiting for her. Sam lifted one foot up and eased forward…..
32 Hours Earlier
“Is half of WeHo here?” asked Alice loudly as she, Julie and Sam moved into the hospital ER. People in scrubs moved around them as if they weren’t there, and Sam wasn’t bleeding all over her shirt. The tomboy laughed at Alice’s antics. There was nothing that Alice didn’t have a come back for.
In the far corner, near one of the curtained off area’s, Tina was standing with Jo Wheaton, speaking in hushed voices to Dr. Darci Cyr. Tina swung around when she heard Alice’s voice, her red eyes finding Alice instantly.
“Al,” whispered Tina. Alice excused herself from Sam and Julie, moving aside and Tina caught sight of Julie. For a moment, all her troubles seemed to melt away, the sight of this woman made Tina’s heart stop.
“Holy fuck,” blurted out Tina.
“It’s not Dana,” said Alice sharply. Thinking she should sent out a memo, or a mass message to her friends that there was a Dana look like walking around LA, who talked faster than Dana, and looked rather sexy in a leather jacket.

you continue to have me by the seat of my pants! Loving this. I actually liked how Bette and Tina pushed aside their differences and were able to be there for their daughter. Henry needs to suffer greatly. Thanks can’t wait for more!
Oh, god. That was just awful. I’m glad Jesse will live on in Angie, but that was heartbreaking. I had just spent a kind of a vicious minute there, hoping Jo was gonna just make Hank suffer, but screw him. I like the way you’re entwining the stories more with each chapter. Engrossing stuff, Janet. Cheers
Oh my goodness…why did I read this at work…very well written but dag…so sad…Henry is as good as dead.
this story is amazing please update soon. i think i’m addicted to this story
Damn, Girl . . . you got me cryin’ . . . And I’m gonna’ tell ya’ right now, that this tomboy don’t cry to easily especially after just ‘reading’ something . . . That’s a fucked up deal . . . Jesse havin’ to die and all . . . God, you should like write for the fuckin’ show ;-p ~tear falls~ . . . Okay, I’m kool, now, ANYWAYS, my girl, Shane, has like perfect timing . . . glad Sam took that hand . . . I wander what’s gonna’ become of Shane and Sam and Carmen . . . Baby-girl, you got me fuckin’ hooked and like the others that are out here, I need my fix, like NOW!!! LMFAO!!! Anyways, keep up the great work and update soon for me . . . and like always from me, Baby-girl, LYLAS ;-p . . . love ya’ . . . holla at me!!!!
I’m really sorry that you are feeling so bad. Hope you get better soon…Man, did shit hit the fan or what? A lot of times one can figure out the direction a story is taking, but never one of yours! That’s why I love reading anything that you write. Ok, just when I think Bette possibly might go for Jayden or even Sam or Rosita, she ends up getting close to Tina. As you would say “MERDE!” Thanks for posting when you were so sick. Next one soon…pleeeze?
Good God you are a drama queen!!! Drama, drama, drama!!! The thing is…I love your style of drama. Because of your writing abilities, I am on the edge of my seat every second while reading this. Oh, and your author’s comments to me…you are one of the few who can comfort me while still making me feel like I am on the edge of the cliff!! “…but at the end, I think you’ll remember why I’m a rogue…” Okay, I am definitely falling off that cliff!! Thanks JM!
WOW! I am speechless, thank goodness all I have to do is write my comments & not say them. Never in a million years would I have thought that Jesse would be a casualty in your story. Kudos, ya shocked me, you always take a route that no one would expect. Truly feel for Sam, losing Jesse & his bio mom. Can’t wait to see where your story takes her & the rest of the gang. Can Jo beat the crap out of Henry & get away w/ it & will she make him forget who kicked his ass. Super job. Great stuff.
Sweetheart, Everyone else has sung you praises. I’ll just thanks you,and post soon and feel better thanks bvh
OMG! Tears came to my eyes more than once. You’re a great storyteller. I can see everything happening in my head in such detail. Keep up the good work!
Oh Janet you broke my heart a littly…why did the kids get a raw deal :( Let Jo hang Henry’s Ts (no not Tina, the other Ts) to dry and Tina deserve her own version for being negligence. Glad Sam took it. A bang-up chapter JM.
