JBurHOT – I’m a dancer but not professionally for many reasons unfortunatly, but I am studying to become a ballet teacher so in a way it’s all good =0) Thanx for wishing me luck…. and I could never forget you guys so no worries! ;)

Tina woke up early Sunday morning with the biggest smile on her face, today was the day…. today her and Bette would be on a plane, on thier way to Tina’s home and her past. She was meeting the girls to make the final arrangements and then the afternoon was just for her and Bette before the flight that evening. She gently disentangled herself from Bette’s arms and went to go and shower and get ready, quietly singing to herself at the thought of the weeks to come. There was one thing on her mind though which she wanted to talk to Alice about but that would have to wait for now.

Before leaving the house she kisses Bette goodbye and leaves a note for her on her pillow with a single yellow rose tinged with pink…. it was the flower that reminded Bette of her and if she couldn’t be there when Bette woke up then she wanted there to be something reminicent of her for Bette to open her eyes to.

She has so many thoughts going through her head of what could go right or wrong, but just the thought of having Bette all to herself for two weeks was her idea of heaven and the week with the girls was the after party. She was so wrapped up in her thoughts that she almost drove straight past the Planet and then nearly walked straight passed Al and the others once she arrived.

“Hey Miss ‘I’m away with the fairies’, we’re over here!” Al said as she saw Tina begin to walk past them.

The girls around the table just smiled at each other, knowing exactly why Tina was in her own little world.

“*****, sorry guys I guess I just got other things on my mind” she said smiling as she reached over and gave Tori a hug and the others a kiss on the cheek

“Hey sweetie, guess what…. I’m coming to Zim with Shane and the girls!!” Tori said excitedly

“That is if you don’t mind?”

“God of course not hun, it’ll be great… maybe even like old times?”

“If I have anything to do with it, it will be” Tori said mischeviously

“Ok guys what the ***** are you on about?”

“Al, for once if for us to know and for you to find out later” Tina said, raising her eyebrow and smiling at her inquisative friend

“Ok well I’ll let that go for now…. so today’s the big day huh?”

“Yip, that it is… and I’m so bloody scared, nervous and excited I don’t know what to do with myself. I have no clue how I’m going to keep it all in check and not let Bette on to out little secret. To be honest Al, I don’t know how you managed to keep your mouth shut?”

“Well I knew it was important, for both of you…. besides I had Shane and Dana keeping me in check, and I still got the bruises to prove it!”

“Well, thank you guys you…. you’ve all been so amazing I don’t, well I don’t know ow to thank you. You guys have become my friends, my family and my support…. Thank you!” Tina said as tears come to her eyes

“Same old chicken…. you know she even managed to cry when watching an advertisement?” Tori says laughing, grateful that Tina seems to finally be happy.

“Well in my defense, it was a REALLY sad one!” Tina says as she’s wiping the stray tear that fell down her cheek

Shane and Dana just laughed at the two women and their interaction and Al noticed an opportunity to get some dirt on Tina

“Soooo, what other little stories can you tell us about Miss Kennard over here?” cocking an eyebrow in Tori’s direction

“Well she used to be the bi….”

“Umm ladies have we forgotten why we’re here?” Tina interrupts, never really sure what will come out of her friends mouth

“Come Tina, just a few little tid-bits to tide me over?”

“Ok gossip queen, one story then back to the plan ok”

Al nods her head and focuses on Tori, not wanting to miss a second

“Promise?”

“Come on Tina…. ok, ok I promise. Now can we get on with it please?”

“Ok, well Tina used to be the biggest ***** I mean she wouldn’t even talk to me during ballet class….”

“Hey, if you’re gonna tell them a story at least tell them something that’s remotely accurate” Tina says laughing at the look on the girls faces

“Well maybe she wasn’t a *****, she was just real shy and we didn’t talk to each other…. but the point of my story was that we ended up performing in a show and, well Tina was the chicken. I’m talking bright yellow tights, wings, headpiece scary make-up the works. All of a sudden there’s this chicken that won’t shut up, I mean she’s cracking jokes in the middle of the routine and messing up all of our timing. Next thing you know she’s flirting with everyone, even me. I, as you can tell, was immune to her charms. I guess you could say that she has ‘chicken confidence’…. right chicken?” Tori says looking at Tina with the most innocent expression on her face

“You couldn’t have been that immune, we became best friends if I remember? Oh and as I recall, you were a scarecrow which is not that much better than a chiken…. just a little more flexible”

“Well if anyone’s interested, I have the video?”

“Oh no you don’t, there was no visual included in the agreement!”

The three other women just look at each other and burst out laughing, the banter between these two was something to witness.

“Oh god, please Tina… I bet Bette would think you make a cute chicken?”

“Ya come on it can’t be that bad?” Shane says, looking at Tori and wondering what she would look like as a scarecrow

“Oh yes it can!” they said together

“Right so on to the plan for tonight” Tina said, trying to move away from the tape and on to something else

“So, you guys have our luggage and everything and will bring it with you when you come to pick us up later. Remember, I have Bette all to myself until 7 and please no interruptions?”

All four women put their hands on their hearts and swear, knowing that they can’t mess this up

“Great, thanx guys. I have, well I have one thing to talk to you guys about if that’s ok?”

“Sure Tina, what’s up?” Dana says, always willing to help

“Umm I don’t know how to say this so I’m just going to come right out with it…. I was… well I was thinking of asking Bette to be my wife, I mean I know she’s THE one and I know she loves me and I want it to be special, perfect when I ask her and I think the time and place is right. I mean I want to live together for a while first, have a long engagement or whatever but I’m not sure how Bette feels. I know she loves me, but does she want that kind of commitment?”

Alice: “Oh my god Tina, that’s amazing”

Dana: “Yeah it’s awesome”

Shane: “It’s just too ***** cute”

Tori: “You go girl”

“Do you think she’ll say yes?”

“Tina, to be honest I don’t know but I’ve never seen Bette like this, she’s never been in a commitment for as long as this. She loves you with all that she is and I think she’s in it for the long haul”

“Thanx Al…. you really think so?”

“Yeah Tina, I mean anyone can see how much she loves you. It’s so obvious even a blind person could see it” Shane added

“Tina, I’ve never known you to be this happy and from what I’ve seen you guys complete each other. It’s in every look, every touch, every gesture. Besides, you’ve got to take big risks to get big rewards right?”

“I guess you guys are right…. I have to go for what I want, and I want Bette for now and always. Thanx guys, you are all stars and I love ya!” she says as she hugs all of them

“Now if you excuse me I’ve got to get back to my woman”

Tina left the girls to their own devices as she headed back to her home, to Bette. She wasn’t sure what was going on with Tori and Shane, but they were both big girls and she figured they could look after themselves. She was just glad Tori was going to join them in Zim, she wanted more time to catch up and having Tori there would certainly make it more interesting!

Meanwhile:-

Bette had woken up to an empty bed and was a little dissapointed, she turned over and opened her eyes and a smiled graced her lips. There, lying on Tina’s pillow was the flower and the note that she had left. Bette reached over and brought the flower to her lips, placing a feather light kiss on the soft petals as she inhaled the gentle aroma of the rose. Leaning up against the pillows, she reads Tina’s note….

Baby,

I wish I could be there when you wake, to place a kiss on the lips I crave to touch and the mouth I long to taste. But sadly life doesn’t always give us what we want.

I won’t be long, I just went for a coffee with Tori so stay in bed and stay comfy. You’re all mine this afternoon and there will be no interuptions, I’ve made sure of that….

I love you and I can’t wait to be in your arms
