“Yes.”

“I have something to tell you.”  Carmen turned to face Shane.

“What’s up?” Shane was looking worried at her lover.

“I want you to know what no matter what happens, I will always love you – whether I am with you or not.  I want you to understand.”  She looked serious.

“Carm, don’t scare me.  I will be with you all the way, no matter what.”  She promised.

“I know, I know you will.”  Carmen kissed her with all her love.   She pulled back when Shane wanted more.

“Promise me that if I am not around, you will fall in love again with another woman.”  Carmen said with watery eyes.

“Don’t say that please. I don’t want any woman, you are the only one I want.”  Shane wiped her tears from her cheeks.

“You are strong, without you who will cook me breakfast, who will get me into trouble?  I love you, remember that and I won’t give up on you.” She added playfully.

“Thank you for everything, Shane.  I am really glad that I met you that night.”  Carmen’s smile returned. 

Carmen kissed Shane like there was no tomorrow.  They reassured each other their love that night and moaned each other’s names when they came hard.  Both were worn out from their acts of love.  Carmen woke up early the next day to make Shane her favourite breakfast, scramble eggs with potatoes and peppers. 

Carmen asked Shane to buy some milk from the corner shop for her coffee. 

When Shane came back, she saw the breakfast was laid on the table. She sat down to enjoy her breakfast and called Carmen to join her. 

“Carmen.  Come and eat before the food goes cold!”  Shane shouted to the bedroom.  But there was no reply. 

“Carmen!”  Shane called again still no reply.

Shane went into her bedroom to find her, only to find a letter on the pillow.

I hope you understand that I am leaving you because I love you too much.  I do not want you to bear my burden, this is my battle that I have to face alone.
