    He took another sip of the cognac and contemplated the highly sought-after view before him, admiring what he saw beyond the sandy stretch of beach, the blue and green of the bay, now turned a silvery hue in the shadows of a slowly sinking fierce orange sun. It was past 7 o’clock, and the sun was on its way down; it seemed to pause now, as if arranging itself before proceeding to set over the far horizon.

    Time it did, too, Logan thought. The sun had been unrelenting today, and the whole day had been bestially hot. But the winds that blew in from the still icy waters were quickly cooling the grounds around them once the heat of the sun began to dissipate.

    Brom and Tom stood a few feet away from him, chatting easily, leaning over the railing like Logan was, and puffing on cigars also. They were exchanging jokes about how they’d each whiffed on small talk they’d tried on some of the women during the party that had raged on through the late-afternoon on the other side of the mansion earlier that day.

    “I don’t think they believed I’d been recovering from physical injuries actually,” Brom was recounting with a wry laugh.

    ”Sympathy card wasn’t playing? Stuck you in that dreaded “friendzone,” did they?” Tom asked, ribbing him.

    ”Yeah. Or maybe it was the fact that they couldn’t take my having two left feet while we were dancing. Or I think what I was trying to do resembled dancing …”

    Tom laughed aloud, ”I think that’s it. Gotta have rhythm these days, man. Not enough to look good; have to move well, smell good..”

    “What – two out of three not enough for women today?”

    Humour, the primary glue of male bonding, Logan thought, smiling inwardly as he half-listened in on their conversation.

    Brom saw that Logan was in a reflective mood, so he took a couple of steps towards his melancholy friend as he and Tom continued to laugh and poke fun at themselves.  He clapped Logan across his shoulder, to shake him in a friendly manner, then observed with a laugh, ”I guess some of us just have to tighten our game, right? Unlike Logan here….”

    Logan smiled at them, as he took another drag from his cigar. ”What about Logan?”

      And like everyone in your story, i also have a secret crush at Bette.

      B&T, they are the most amazing couple, their connection is inbreakable and they are so strong, they can and will handle everything that will cross their pad.

    2. Bette leaving everyone starstruck is totally believable. Tina recounting their first time was wonderful. I hope we will get Bette’s POV of her first time with Tina so that it will ease Tina’s insecurities. I am nervous about Bette traveling again.

    5. Love it! Tina talking about her first time with Bette was hot! I know Tina is scared but she should trust Bette not to so anything stupid. Life needs to go on. Taking Diane and Jules may not be a good thing. I love that B&T are trying for another baby.

    6. Ahhh!, I love to see the girls living the finer side of life after so much drama and hurt. All the men and women came to attention as Bette sashayed across the veranda dressed like she had just stepped out of Vogue magazine. I could see the younger women hanging on Tina’s every word as she spoke about their first time together. This is just a marvelous tale. Please keep Bette safe while she departs on this mission. She has to remember that she was not with Tina for the birth of Angelica. She does not want that to happen again. Thanks for the dual updates and enjoy the warms days of summer.
