Chapter 7 – Election Day

Chapter 7 – Election Day
The alarm went off on Tina’s beside table at 6:30. She quickly got up and made her bed and went to her bathroom to start her morning routine. After her shower, she dressed and gathered her dirty clothes and towels and started down the hall toward Angie’s room. She knocked on her door and gently opened the door. Angie was still asleep. Tina went over and jostled her shoulder to awaken her.
Tina: Angie? Angie sweetie, you need to get up sweetie. Are you awake? Come on. Get up. What would you like for breakfast?
Angie: Morning mom. What time is it?
Tina: Its 6:45. Tell you what, I’m going to make you a couple of breakfast sandwiches on English muffins. Why don’t you help me out and bring your dirty clothes and towels down when you come down for breakfast? Are you up?
Angie (sitting up): Yeah mom. Thanks. I better get my shower.
Tina: Yeah, we don’t want to be late…. Let’s get moving. Bring your dirty laundry.
Angie: Okay… I’ll be down shortly.
Tina then left the room. She smiled. It had been a while since she had the responsibility of getting Angie up for school. She passed the master bedroom door and she heard some singing but not at anywhere near the volume of yesterday. That made her smile even bigger.
Tina went down and put her towels in the washing machine and waited for Angie’s contribution of dirty laundry. Tina hoped to wash a couple of loads a day, then it could remain under control. She then immediately went to the kitchen to start the breakfast.
She got out six eggs, the Canadian bacon, the sliced cheese and the English muffins. She made sure the coffee machine was on and went and set the table for three. The food was in the warming oven when both Bette and Angie came down for breakfast.
Bette: Morning T! Something smells good.
Tina: The coffee is ready and so is breakfast.
Bette: Great! Angie? What do you want to drink?
Angie: How about some juice? Thanks.
Bette: Angie, why don’t I drive you to school and then I can go on over to the elementary school and cast my ballot. I’d like to get that out of the way.

Great chapter, sad Bette lost the election but she will probably still be doing great things for the community. Glad she had the support of her family and friends.
I question if Jordi is the girlfriend Angie needs, she looks so needy and pouts about everything not going her way.
On to read the next chapter.
Bibi,
You knew that Bette was going to lose the election. Gen Q had already determined that. I just felt the need to give a little more detail as to her reaction to the loss and of course give Tina a role to play that event.
Jordi? Jordi is Angie’s first girlfriend, and they are not compatible at all. But with all people at the age of 16 almost 17, that is not something you can tell them. They must discover this for themselves. Angie is not pleased with Jordi and there will soon be another bump or two for these two to negotiate. In Angie, you will see a true reflection of the combination of Bette and Tina and perhaps some Kit as well.
Thanks for reading….
Really good chapter
Although we knew what happened with Bette and the Election, it was lovely to read about her day and the enormous support she gotfrom both Tina and Angie. It was nice to hear how vulnerable Bette was on the day and that she needed and appreciated Tina begin by her side. It’s all seems to be goin* so well, supporting an£ needing each other as a family.
I’m looking to reading about there continuing closeness and relationship.
For me, Bette and Tina have always needed each other. And they both love and adore Angie. In any major event, Bette for sure wants Angie nearby. Knowing that the loss of the election might be an emotional blow of Angie, they both wanted to tell her that things are going to be okay.
Thanks for reading…
