Chapter 30 – Saturday with the Extended Family

Bette: Did you sleep well Paris?

Paris:  Yes, I did.  The beds here are rather comfortable. And between you and Tina, the food is absolutely excellent.

Bette: Do you think you’ll be going with us to Scotland next year?

Paris:  Yes, it actually sounds like a hoot. I did a little touring of Scotland when I was in college but not a whole lot. A farm with an inn on it and this group sounds wonderful. Ten days in Scotland with someone else doing the cooking?  Sounds heavenly. There is a lot of history in that area and it can be somewhat romantic.

Bette:  I need to keep that in mind. I know that Angie and Daniel are going to want to play a little golf.  Tina and I are thinking about taking some lessons after the first of the year. Something to do with the kids when they come home for holidays. Something to do once we retire too.

Paris:  Well, I’m going to leave that to your family. Be sure to take your camera.  Tina may find some interesting things she may want to paint.

Bette:  Yes, I have no idea what she is planning on doing in her art collection. She will let us in on it when she’s ready. This fall is going to be busy for all of us. We have to move and get settled in. Tina is hoping to be settled into her studio and into some semblance of a schedule.

Paris:  I think it was a good idea for you two to get her a studio away from the house. She will have less distractions and can really concentrate on creating her art.

Mary walked in after having her shower in the media room bath. She was smiling as if she had just won the lottery.

Mary: Oh, my goodness.  My two girls working on breakfast! Where is Tina and Jeanette?

Bette:  Tina will be down shortly. We slept in today and we are sorry we missed our swim session with you this morning.

Paris:  Jeanette just wasn’t ready to get up, but she will be down before breakfast.

Mary: What can I do to help?

Bette: Get out three packages of bacon and put them in a chaffing dish with a lid and then find the large spatula and some oven mitts and the grill scraper and carry it out to the grill. Oh, and take a roll of paper towels for Sonny as well.
