Chapter 26 – A Day to Review
Angie: So, what are you two up to tomorrow?
Bette: We are closing on the house. By this time tomorrow, that lovely home we visited Saturday week before last, will be our home sweet home.
Daniel: Really? So, when do we move in?
Tina: It’s going to take a couple of weeks. It has to be painted inside and out. We have to get our furniture from New York to Santa Monica. We hope to be in before the end of September. But the designer will be making our drapes and purchasing the additional furniture we are going to need. Hopefully, by Thanksgiving, we will have a fully furnished home to celebrate the holidays in.
Bette got up and poured some wine for Angie and for Tina and herself. Daniel poured himself some more water.
Angie: I really like this wine with this prime rib. What is this?
Tina: Merlot. You drink red wine with red meats – beef, veal, pork. You drink a white wine with chicken, fish and other fowl.
Angie: Oh, that’s good to know.
Daniel: So, there is still a lot to do to make this move, right?
Bette: Yes. Still a lot to do. But not as much as there was. And we are making good progress and we are right on schedule. Oh, in New York, if we get our work done and we feel up to it, we might could go to a theater production at the end of the week. Would you two be interested in something like that?
Angie: Really? Yes… do you think we could go see Hamilton?
Tina: I don’t know, they have been sold out for weeks in advance. We are going to have to pull some strings to get five tickets to Hamilton.
Bette: Maybe we can try to go on Thursday night which is a less popular night. We may need to pull some favors to get that done?
Tina: Yes, I’ll call my old studio and see if I can pull some strings. Maybe you can call Helena and Marilyn and see if they have any sources.
Bette: Yeah, we can do that. No promises people. We see what we can do. But if we put this on the schedule, we have to be substantially finished by Thursday afternoon.
Angie: I think we can do that. After all there are five of us.
Tina: And we should have very little shopping we need to do. That will give us more time. But we do have the closing on the New York apartment. I’m with Angie, I think this is doable.
Daniel: Alrighty then… live music and singing. Can’t wait.
Bette and Tina smiled. The family finished their dinner and quickly cleaned up the kitchen. Tina and Bette then got on the phone to make contact with friends and former cohorts to see if they could get tickets to the Hamilton performance. It would take a couple of days to see if they had achieved their goal.
They joined the kids in the media room and joined them in their video games of golf. Tina seems to figure out just the right amount of swing to keep her ball straight and in the fairway. Bette was just getting the hang of the game when the time came that the family should retire for the evening. Daniel was the champion, but he was the most experienced.
Bette and Tina hugged and kissed both of kids and wished them a good night’s sleep. And then, they all went up to their room. Bette and Tina performed their nightly bedtime rituals. They found their way to bed and had a make out session which led to sexual intimacy and a huge orgasm for each of them simultaneously. The afterglow was so great and intoxicating they were asleep before saying good night to each other.
