Changes (B&T B) Chapter 3 :

Bette had been eating her breakfast and talking with the gang for about half an hour now. But no one of them was able to tell yet whether or not Bette was *****.
Shanes instinct told her Bette was *****. Her gaydar however, needed more information to provide an accurate analysis.
Dana as usual, was clueless. Not only she didnt have a gaydar (If such a thing is possible) she didnt even understood what a gaydar was.
Alice, on the other hand, had a pretty accurate gaydar. Excelled only by Shanes. Her gaydar needed more information too, but her instinct contrary to Shanes told her Bette was straight.
And finally, Tina. Although Tina had a pretty decent gaydar, any form of rational thinking she possessed, had vanished the moment she saw Bette porter. So, that meant only Shane and Alice could reveal the mysterious sexual preference of Ms. Bette Hottie Porter.

Excuse me, Ill be right back Said Alice rising to her feet I have to pee She added as she headed towards the bathroom

So Shane, you are a hairdresser right ? Asked Bette, trying to make conversation

Oops! Be right back she said as she got up and moved away from the table

Okay Shane, this isnt working! I cant figure out if shes straight or not!!

Alice? Wha–? Where are you? Asked Shane almost in a whisper, afraid that Bette might hear.

In the bathroom ya dummy Alice answered But, focus! What can we do to find out if Bette Porter is ***** or not?

Ya know Al, I could just ask her out Shane said nonchalantly

Oh no Shane! You cant do that! Blurted Alice Havent you noticed the way Tina looks at this woman? She asked

Shane turned around so she could she the table where Tina, Bette and Dana were talking. Tina had the goofiest smile on her face, she looked much like a teenager in love.

I see what you mean Al, but Tina isnt exactly an inexperienced woman. Maybe we should let her


No, no, no. Belive me when I tell you that Ive never in my life seen Tina like this Interrupted Alice

Back in the table, Bette was talking animatedly with Tina about her job, and her love for art. For some Strange reason she felt really confortable with this woman.
All of the sudden she was really happy she wasnt back at home, were she had managed to build a huge reputation of being Bette ***** em and leave em Porter. She was glad no one new her here. Nevertheless, she was feeling ready to be known. By Ms. Tina Kennard.

Ok, ok, ok. But if she freaks out and runs away youll deal with Tina Said Shane and flipped her cell phone closed.

Shane walked slowly back to the table and took her seat next to Dana. She gestured the waitress to come over. When the waitress did so, Shane grabbed her t-shirt and pulled her into a feverish kiss.
Alice had came back to the table seconds after Shane, and was closely awaiting for Bette Porters reaction.

Omg, shes freaked out Thought Alice when she saw the look of downright confusion Bette had.
Actually, Bette wasnt freaked out. She was simply shocked that this young boyish brunette would simply grab the waitress and kiss her.
However, people tend to see what they want to see, and since Alice had the feeling that Bette was straight she assumed that her shocked attitude was simply more evidence to sustain her theory.

Ok, er, I really have to go Said Bette as she stood up Tina is your offer still standing? if it is to much trouble I could just call a taxi

They were reaching Tinas car when her cell phone rang. She had received a text message. It said:

T. We where trying to find out. It think shes str8

Yeah, I figured that much when she almost ran out of The planet when she saw the kiss Though Tina as she opened the door for Bette.
Bette flashed her one of her millon-dollar smile and said flirtatiously:

Omg, shes simply too sweet Thought Bette at the sight of a very blushed Tina.
They got into the car. Tina was nervous as a fourteen year-old in her first date. She was pretty sure Bette was straight : The son, the reaction towars the kiss, it made sense. But there was something about her, something especial.
