“Hey, Blue !” April greeted him.

Since he knew her, he got onto his feet and went to her seat, always wary of Max.

“He is a cutie.” Max spoke quietly, not to disturb Blue.

Blue looked at him, still not knowing what to make of this one. Then he jumped next to Dr. Sullivan, mewed once and lifted his head to be petted.

“Seems like he is looking for something.” Jenny said.

“I guess he just remembers me from earlier. Funny that he is not more shy. Looks like the forgiving sort.” April grinned. “But since you’re so convieniently sitting next to me, Mr. Porter, I can take the chance and do a quick examination.”

She lifted him up and turned him around. “Everything is looking fine. Do you know if he had something to eat ?”

“No, sorry. We just came over a few minutes ago. We’re the neighbors.”

“Very friendly neighborhood if you ask me. Serving the guests while you’re one yourself.” April sniggered at them.

“You can say that again !” Came now from behind her. “Hey, April. Good to see you.” Shane stepped into her direction.

April set Blue on the couch and got up. She took Shane’s hand. “Hey yourself.”

They looked at each other and Jenny and Max changed an amused smile, which went unnoticed by either Shane or April. Max made a motion with his hand as in saying, “Let’s get lost.”

“Why, Al, you jealous or what ?” Bette grinned at her.

“Not in your life, Porter. Helena’s like a sister to me… eeew…” Alice shivered. “And you lost your chance a long time ago !” She added.

“Nice to hear that, Pieszecki. What’s going on out there ?” Bette asked, never letting go of her lover.

“Don’t know, had to use the facilities. But I guess the mysterious April arrived and I’m too late for my giving her the once over.” Alice was disappointed.

“You’ll get your chance to meet her soon enough, Alice.” Helena said while rising of Bette’s lap.

She kissed her girlfriend on the cheek. “Darling, let’s go. Maybe after talking to April you can pack some clothes for the night.”

“Sure, love, I’ll do that. And I have to introduce you to her anyway. Let’s see what she has to say about Blue’s condition.”
