Several days after the show at Bette’s gallery
James: Bette, Audrey Evettes is on line one.
Bette: Thanks James
***** I forgot to call her damn where is her card..she is going to think I’m a flake
Bette: Audrey please accept my apology for not calling you.. honestly that night I was so tired the suit I was wearing is in my dry cleaning pile.. with your card still in the pocket. I’m very sorry. (hoping Audrey will be as understanding as she looked)
Audrey: Well I enjoy your honestly and attending the show I understand how tired you must have been. (laughing)
Bette: So Audrey when is a good time for our visit, how does this Friday work for you I have anytime after 1:00. (hoping a meeting tomorrow will help make up for not calling her back)
Audrey: How about 5:00 and I will let you take me to dinner after.
Bette: (smiling) OK 5:00 is good what restaurant do you like?
Audrey: I moved to LA 10 days ago from Seattle and don’t know my way around this huge town so I’ll leave where we go up to you. (laughing)
Bette: You must be in culture shock, LA is a stark difference from Seattle.
Audrey: That would be an understatement, I’m trying to adjust its not been easy. (she answers truthfully)
Bette: Well how about a nice dinner and we can get to know each other, do you like Japanese food? There is a great place close by. (can’t imagine how hard this change must be for Audrey, she sure seems nice)
Audrey: That would be great I will see you Friday at 5:00. Now don’t forget.. (with a joking laugh)
Bette: I’m looking forward to our visit and dinner, see you at 5:00. (smiles thinking she is a very interesting woman and I think we will become good friends)
