Chapter 26
Seething with anger Tina got behind Bette and wheeled her through the lobby and across the street to the main entrance of the hospital. Tina got into the hospital elevator and pushed the button for Bette’s floor. Her mind was racing wondering what Bette was thinking or feeling. Tina stopped at the nurse’s station to tell them they were back and that Bette was ready for her pain medication and nurse’s check.
The girls entered Bette’s room and set up dinner at the small table in the hospital room. Tina ordered a spread of some appetizers and salads for them to eat. After settling Bette into her seat, Tina moved around to her side of the table and sat down. Just as they were about to start eating After sitting down across from Bette at the table Tina said “Bette? Are you ok? Do you want to talk about it?”
Bette said “I am ok. I guess I am just startled. Jodie was the last person that I was expecting to see today:”
Tina said “Bette, I swear… I had no idea she was staying there… “
Bette said “T, I know. It isn’t your fault. How could you know? You are always here with me”.
Tina said “Bette, are you ok? What are you thinking and feeling. I could fucking kill that bitch with my bare hands at this point. I made it very clear to her that she was not going to visit you here at the hospital Bette. I have no idea why she is sticking around this area. I hope she isn’t up to anything.”
Bette said “She has friends here on the west coast and in Oregon. Who knows why she is sticking around. I don’t think she is waiting for me T or thinks we have any chance of reconciling. I made my feelings very clear to her. Her last acts were out of desperation, not love.”
Tina said “Bette, she is in love with you. You can see it written all over her face. She does want to get back together with you…”
Bette said “Tina, I don’t care what she wants! I don’t even want to see her let alone get back together with her. I made my feelings very clear that I was with you. That I wanted you. I told her to go back to LA and we would sort things out when I am recovered. Now, I don’t even want to do that. I consider that chapter in my life shut. I have nothing to say to her now and nothing to sort out with her.”

I’m happy that Bette didn’t let the Jodi thing distract her from her wanting to be close to Tina. And it was thoughtful of Tina, giving Bette space. Continue with the story, I love it.

Glad that Bette and Tina talked a little about Henry and Jodi. Also glad that both are out of the picture when it comes to Bette and Tina.

B&T showing their love for each other so thoughtfully and tenderly is the best part of their relationship. The Jody fling was all negatives and turmoil as far as I’m concerned.
