Bette: “Did you flirt with him?”
Tina: “God! No! Why would you even think that?”
Bette: “Well, did you even tell him about us?”
Tina: “Yes.”
Bette: “Well, what did you tell him? Because he obivously didn’t get the message.”
Tina is starting to get irritated at the 3rd degree Bette’s giving. “I told him you were my wife and that we’ve been together for the last 7 years. Why? What do you mean?”
Bette: “Well, he told me to tell you to give him a call sometime. What do you suppose he meant by that?” Bette can’t take anymore. She walks off leaving Tina calling after her, “Baby? Bette….come one I’m sure he didn’t mean anything by it.”
She follows Bette into the bedroom. She puts her arms around Bette’s waist, but Bette pushes her away. Bette is hurting and Tina can see the tears forming in her eyes. Tina doesn’t give up. She hugs Bette again, “Baby, I love you. I told him everything about us. Besides, he’s married now. It meant absolutely nothing. I only want you. I left him to be with you that ought to be reason enough to believe that I wouldn’t do that to you.”
Bette rests her head on Tina’s shoulder, “I’m sorry he just kind of caught me off guard.”
Tina: “It’s ok. You’ve been stressed all week.”
Bette smiles, “So you really told him everything?”
Tina: “Yep.”
Bette: “How did he react?”
Tina: “Ok I guess, it’s been a long time, you know. But he did ask if it was his fault I’m *****.”
Bette: “Oh my God! I swear, men always think it has something to do with them. They can’t seem to comprehend that it comes naturally.”
Tina wipes Bette’s tears away, “You feel better now?”
Bette: “Yes, baby. You’re right, this ***** with the opening and now Kit…..it’s driving me crazy……I should know how I react under stress. I’m sorry for taking it out on you.”
Tina kisses Bette, “It’s ok. That’s why I’m here…to be your rock. Just don’t make it a habit. I don’t want to be your punching bag.”
Bette laughs, “Ok.”
Tina: “Come on, let’s enjoy this rare free time we have together.”
Bette: “What do you want to do?”
