Bette led the way and helped Tina and Lisa into their car… and as she was getting into her car she happened to look up and there was Candace looking out the window… getting into her car she dials Tina on her cell…
Tina: What did you forget or do you miss me already…
Bette: Always miss you baby… but Miss Thing is watching us from the window…
Tina: Let it go babe….
Bette: I know… but she is never going to do any work for us again…
Tina: That’s fine… but for now… even though we don’t need her… we need her… just so it gets done…
Pulling into the Planet… Shane was downing her shots of her special blend of coffee…
Tina: Hi ladies…
Shane: I’m on my way Tee…
Tina: Take your time… mom is fine… Candace is working…
Bette: At least now she is probably working… Tina and Lisa left…
Alice: Why didn’t you just can her…
Tina: Because we want this done this week and who knows how long it would take for another carpenter to come over…
Lisa: I’m sorry you guys… I feel like it my fault…
Bette: Nonsense… Candace needs to keep it in her pants… but trust me she is not going to get within 10 feet of either of you…
Tina: Well are you ready kid… I have a 9:30 meeting…
Lisa: All set…

Bette: Shane… I really appreciate this and you too Dana… and of course you Alice
Shane: Hey not a problem… we’re glad we can help…
Dana: So you got the whole week covered…
Bette: Yes we do… and I’ll be home on Friday… let her try something…

Everyone goes on their way… Shane arrives at the house…
Linda: Morning Shane…
Shane: Morning Mrs. Kennard
Linda: Shane… please call me Linda…
Shane: You know Mrs. is too formal and Linda is… I don’t know… I feel funny calling one of my best friend’s mom by her first name…
Linda: What would you like to call me…
Shane: What about Mom… I never had one… or at least one who ever gave a dam about me… and Alice and Dana call you mom… I was hoping…
Linda pulls her into her arms… well you have one now… Shane smiles that half smile of hers and melts in Linda’s arms… I would be honored for you to call me mom…

Geez, MG, I dont’ think I could play Truth with my mother. But then you seem to have a thing about uncomfortable sex situations involving family. Kind of makes me wish I was a fly on the wall at your son’s reception and/or rehearsal dinner. Congratulations. How long do you think it will take them to make you a grandmother? And of course Alice was right, Bette can be as Alpha as she wants to be but she ain’t making sperm. So what? It’s all good in the end and a child is a child. Or grandchild.

Hi MG It GREAT to have you back and I a glad that the wedding went off without a hitch (I assume they did get hitched LOL). Congrads on the new family member. I LOVED this chapter. That was nice to have Shane call Linda MOM and her calling her Shanie (now she is the ONLY one that can call Shane that). Candance is begging to have he butt kicked and they are all forming a line behind Bette. PPS :o).
