    At the Planet

    Chapter 8

     

     Alice, Tasha, Shane, Lara, and Dana all sat around their usual table at the planet. They were talking about their week when Bette walked in to join them. When Alice saw Bette she tensed up because she knew that her friend was going to give her hell about what she had said about her during Tina’s interview. Shane noticed the tense up by Alice.

     

    Shane: What’s wrong Al?

     

    Alice: Nothing, nothing at all. Why do you ask?

     

    Shane: No reason.

     

      Bette walked to the table.

     

    Bette: Hello my friends and Alice.

     

    Everyone said hello to Bette and they all wondered why the hell Bette addressed Alice like that.

     

    They sat there for about 30 more minutes and then Alice and Shane noticed Bette watching her watch and the front door of the planet.

     

    Shane: Are you waiting for someone Bette?

     

    Alice: Yeah, Bette you look like a junkie looking for it’s fix again.

     

    Dana: Alice what the hell are you talking about.

     

    Alice: Last night when Bette and I were waiting for the person I interviewed she kept watching the door and her watch like she is doing now.

     

    Bette: Alice if you knew what was best for you, you would shut the hell up right now. Because I am not over the shit you pulled last night. I thought we were friends but a friend would have not treated me like you did in front of Tina. You knew damn well I liked her but I am sure you ruined me trying to get to know her. Thanks

     

    Alice: Bette I am sorry.

     

    Bette: Whatever Alice. Look I invited Tina here tonight to have dinner with us so please do not make anymore comments about me and my sex life.

     

    Alice: Bette I am sorry.

     

    Bette: Alice I mean it don’t say a damn word to Tina about me. She just walked through the door. Understand!

       Alice didn’t say anything to Bette. Bette got up and walked towards the door where Tina was standing.

     

    Bette: Hi

     

    Tina: Hi Bette. Sorry about being a few minutes late, I am not usually late but for the last few days I can’t get nowhere on time.
