The remainder of the morning was spent in relatively quiet activities. Angelica would have rather spent the morning in the pool but Tina could just imagine the girl falling asleep during the ceremony.
After breakfast, Angelica had been plunked in the bathtub. Tina tried to say it was as good as swimming, but that excuse didn’t fly, especially to a child raised with her own pool. After that, one of Steph’s friends came by to help with the hairdressing chores.
Bette came by and also lent a hand on the hairdressing. Even so, Angelica was quickly becoming upset with all the sitting still while too many people tugged at her hair. In the end, there were three crabby adults and one very unhappy child. An unhappy child with nice-looking hair; most of it pulled back in a bun but with some ringlets falling free around her face.
Some extra TV time helped the situation with the unhappy child. Bette quietly questioned Tina about using television as a reward.
Unwilling to be second-guessed, Tina asked Bette what other ideas she had that would placate the girl and still keep her in picture-ready condition for the ceremony. To this, Bette had to admit that she didn’t have any ready alternatives.
This led to a fairly quiet morning and a light lunch for all. Then the real work began; preparation for the ceremony.
The light lunch was almost unnecessary for Tina to the point where she hoped she could keep it down. Throughout the morning she felt a growing sense of dread about the ceremony. On one hand, she found unexpected happiness in Bette’s unexpected presence. On the other hand, she knew Bette’s presence would further irritate her mother and she dreaded the confrontation that she knew was inevitable.
As she and Bette interacted throughout the morning, Tina found that more and more often they ended up next to each other. One would accidentally brush the other, or lightly touch the other when making a point.
The interaction was comfortable but confusing. Bette had said that she had not proceeded with Jodi, but what did that mean? Did that mean that Bette had an interest in her? She had been somewhat flirty in the morning, such as her comment about choosing the wrong bed. Still, none of this was anything that Tina wanted to delve into with their child present and on such an emotionally charged day.

Augh! Cliffhanger!!!! Loved this installment, and Tina telling off her mom. As well as Bette! And the handholding, and adorable Angelica. PPS!

Well, John’s date standing him up all of a sudden makes perfect sense…I like it that Bette gets to go…it will lead to a better night. looking forward to the reception…pps!!!!!

Sorry that I skipped you last chapter of your other story. I saw this one and went directly to it but I will go back and read the other story’s chapter. This one jumped up and grabbed my heart. Tina amoungst all the people that should love her yet they push her away, and how they treat Angelica is horrible. Bette seems to be holding her own. I wonder what she has up her sleeve.

Ahhh…wonderfully romantic. If only it were Bette and Tina’s wedding — than I’d be absolutely euphoric. I love the inclusion of Angelica as the flower girl – she is already leading the way and she’s only in preschool! Marian needs to seriously be taken down a peg or two. I hope that’s what Bette is working on with John. Looking forward to the next update — don’t make us wait too long, please….

What does Bette want with john??? Angie is so,so adorable. .So glad that Tina stood her ground.about Angie not being adopted. That would have been good for her Mom,but bad for Tina. . Maybe Bette wants to get pregnany and John to be the spern donor, The bsby would be part of Tina. thanks
ok the B&T OCD side of me is hoping that Bette has realized she & Tina belong together, she’s gonna propose to T in some special way & her grand gesture to T will be to carry their next child & the donor will be John who happens to have T’s coloring & hazel eyes???….okay even if i’m competely off base w/ my guesses, I have loved where you’ve been going w/ this & can’t wait to find out what’s next….i don’t think i got to comment before, but when i read the summary of tina picking up a woman at the hotel, i was 99% sure it was going to be Bette & so relieved when i saw that it was….Excellent!

This is so good. I really hope to see another chapter soon. The B&T interaction is sooo great I hope they will keep it amicable and am quietly hoping they will amp it up a notch or two and get a little more than flirty with each other:-)

Yep. Bette showed up for her family’s rescue. Angie’s sooo cute in the ceremony, saving the day with the ring bearer. Let’s find out what’s B plan, to get John’s help. Hope it’s the appropriate way to be present in the party. That will set Marian on her place! It’s not HER wedding. It’s her daughter’s. The Porter charm is just beginning to roll for her family. Hey Psued, That was wondersful. Great to see Angelica being the delight of the wedding and helping out the ring bearer. This little gal got style. I bet she was totally adorable in her pretty dress and new hairstyle. Now I am intrigued to find out what Bette is needing for John. Perhaps it will be a great declaration of her love for Tina and desore to make things right between them. Renewing their committment to each other in fornt of Tina’s family would be tremendous. Great to see Tina defend her child to the wedding guests. Shame that she had to in the first place but that is just society’s prejudice coming to the fore. Loved that Tina leant on Bette after a run in with her mother. Bette’s interaction with Tina’s mom was civil yet terse. I do hope that Bette and Tina reunite and find some peace with Tina’s family. I am really enjoying this story. It great having this setting with Tina’s family, and Bette being as cool as a cucumber towards Marian. Can’t wait to see what Bette has planned.

Tina’s mom is real bitch! want to kow what bette has up her sleeve…Bette really help keep tina grounded….wonder if bette will stay for the reception? tina is allowed to bring a guest yes? if so then bette can be her guest!! :)

albeez, the Patriarchs will not appreciate you saying that! Ah, well, screw the Patriarchs. They are highly over rated resulting from a largely masturbatory exercise. I’m assuming Marian sat through the ceremony, but it must have been difficult with such a large and thorny stick up her ass. I hope Little Richard won’t be too upset that Angie stole his line, “I’m pretty!”, which was usually followed with a “shut up!” Oh dear, am I giving away my age again? And have things progressed so much between B & T that they go directly from hand holding to sperm donation?
I am so glad that Tina is standing tall despite her bigoted Mother. Angie is SO SO cute and it was too adorable that she led the ring bearer in and out. I hope that Bette is going to arrange a sitter so she can talk to Tina. Though it seems a bit more than that with the cliffhanger…hmmm…whatever do you have up your sleeve… :)

This was a wonderful chapter and I loved funnyone’s comment about the large and thorny stick up Tina’s mother. That was priceless. Bette & Tina sticking up for each other was lovely as well. Tin’s mother needs to go where the devil is making chili powder. Can hardly wait for the next chapter to see what Bette wants to talk with John about. PPS
