    Bette bit her bottom lip. “I know that you Miss Kennard have something up your sleeve.”

    Chapter Three

     

    “She agreed to go to the banquet.” Bette sighed as she sat her ear piece on her desk.

    Phyllis smiled. “Did she really? Well what did you do Porter?”

    “I-I just asked her basically.” Bette chuckled softly. “And she agreed.”

    “Thank you Bette—you saved my day.” Phyllis got up from the chair. “So are you taking Jodi?”

    “I’m not for sure just yet.”

    “Well tonight is the big night,” there was a knock on the door, and both of the ladies looked up. Bette swallowed hard as she saw Jodi and Tom stepped into the office. Phyllis looked at Bette and grinned. “I’ll let you two talk.” She walked out of the office, and Bette walked away from her desk.

    “Hey Jodi,” she smiled softly as she signed. Jodi returned the smile and bit her bottom lip.

    “How are you?”

    “I’m fine,” Tom signed to Jodi as Bette spoke. “How about you?”

    “I’m great.” Bette smoothed her jacket out with her hands as she sighed heavily. “There was something that I wanted to ask you.” She looked into Jodi’s eyes. “Would you like to go to the banquet with me tonight?” Jodi smiled.

    “I would love to,” Bette smiled

    “Well—I’ll see you tonight.” Jodi nodded.

    “I can’t believe that you’re actually going with Phyllis tonight. How did you agree?” Alice looked through dresses.

    “Well we argued, but she said that she would do anything for me to go to this banquet. So I said yes.” Tina smiled as she looked through racks.

    “So she said she’ll do anything huh?” Tina looked at her friend and smiled.

    “Yep, she said she’ll do anything.”

    “So Kennard—what do you have in mind?”

    “I have something up my sleeve,” she grinned devilishly and grabbed a dress. Alice smiled and looked at Tina.

    “Now that is fuckin’ hot. You gotta buy it.” Tina smiled.

    “This will make Bette’s head turn.”

                    Bette grinned and shook hands with some important people in the ballroom. She introduced Jodi with Tom at their side, and they carried on boring conversations. Bette took a drink of her wine and looked around the room. Jodi looked up at Bette and smiled softly. She reached down and grabbed her hand. Bette saw Jodi entwining her fingers with her and smiled.

    1. It is sooo killing Bette to see Tina on another woman’s arm, and Tina knows this she is so bad. Darn Tom and Jodi, well Bette ditched her once she can do it again. Can’t wait to see what Tina’s plan is pps.

    5. Do you think that you could have Bette and Tina dance together so that everybody can see the chemistry that ooozzzes off of them. Maybe Phyllis and Jodi should hook up.

    8. Damn Tom! And Jodi for that matter.. I hope Tina doesn’t force Bette to do anything like *that* – that should come naturally. I think Bette is expecting that but T should do something clever for Bette’s repayment. Love the update, Angel Dx

    9. Love this story and I don’t always get a chance to comment. Tina should keep Bette waiting for just a bit longer but, not too long, Jodi might get wise and pull something of her own. I always want Bette and Tina together. Don’t disappoint me, please. PPS
