Chapter 12-All The Bride’s Maids and All the Groom’s Men!

WHACK! Alex felt the hard rubber of the shoe’s sole hit her already welting skin. She jumped, half asleep.

Alex: What the fuck?

She was hit again.

Carmen: Watch the language!

Alex: Madre!

Alex threw the covers off of herself and climbed out of bed, careful not to disturb her waking fiancée.

Alex: What are you doing?

Carmen hit her with the running shoe again.

Alex: Just put the trainer down.

Carmen: You’re lucky it’s not a high heel. I told you, you and Alice weren’t allowed to see each other.

Yet again, Alex tried avoiding the runner’s wrath, but Carmen got her.

Alex: Stop, I’m leaving, okay?

Carmen: Just wait until your Abuela hears about this!

Alex: Sorry, GHAD!

Alex leaned over and kissed Alice’s forehead gently. Carmen raised the sneaker.

Alex: I’m just saying goodbye. Take it easy.

Alex then whispered to her.

Alex: Go back to bed, I’ll see you later babe.

Alice just snuggled into the pillow. Alex kissed her eyelids, and pulled the blanket up to her chin, before getting up, throwing her hands up and slowly backing away from the bed, towards the door, as Carmen stood between her and Alice with the shoe raised.

Carmen: The next time I see you near her, “Here comes the bride” Should have just finished playing.

Alex: Alright, whatever you say.

Alex turned and ran. Carmen smiled, loving that power. Alex knew better than to defy her.

Kasey and Rory were in Alex’s hotel room. They were seated on the couch, Rory between Kasey’s legs, and Kasey’s arms around her girlfriend lovingly. Kasey kissed Rory’s temple.

Rory: DO you think she got here alright last night?

Kasey: Yeah, She probably just spent the night at Alice’s

Rory: I’m not gonna lie that was an amazing stag.

Kasey: That’s for sure.

Rory reached up to Kasey’s check and gently ran her fingers over it, as she turned her head to kiss her girlfriend.
