Angelica & The Artist – Chapter 30
Chapter 30
Barabra saw the look on her daughter’s face and her heart was breaking. She quickly walked over to her and took her in her arms. “Oh sweetie I’m so sorry. Shhhh…it’s ok.”
Through her tears Lyndsay was somehow able to get the words out “So you are not mad at me?”
“Oh honey of course not. I’m sorry we left the room so suddenly, but believe me, that had nothing to do with you.”
Lyndsay wiped the tears from her eyes and looked up at her Mom. “What about Ang? Are you really OK with it?”
David now also walked closer to his daughter and reassured her that the fact that she had just told them that she was in love with a woman, did not matter to them, as long as she was happy. “Lynds, I’m just confused as to why you didn’t say anything when I saw you last weekend?”
“I didn’t know how to tell you Daddy, and then I thought it would probably be better if I told you and Mom together. I guess the last thing I expected was for you both to leave the room like that.”
Barbara knew she had to explain this to her daughter in just the right way. “Honey, that had nothing to do with you. I’m sorry for just walking out like that.”
Lyndsay just continued to look at her Mom. She knew there was more to the abrupt exit, but thought it best to leave it for now and talk to her Mom later. More important right now was her and Ang. “So are you really ok with me dating a woman?”
David took over the lead of the discussion. “Are you happy?”
“Yes.”
“Then that’s good enough for now.”
Lyndsay smiled at her parents, stood up and excused herself to go upstairs and get changed.
David sat down beside his wife at the table. “Are you really OK with what Lynds just shared with us?”
“David, I don’t know that I would have made this choice for her. It won’t be easy to pursue this relationship. I just don’t want her to get hurt.”
“I know, but it doesn’t really matter who she is dating, there is always a chance of getting hurt.”

Neat!!! We were just talking about getting some seafood this weekend too! I am still loving this story and thanks for the shoutouts!
Hello Tazzie… so the master has returned… you are so freaking amazing… do you want to write a book together… come on I am more then willing to sail on your coat tails… shesh… you amaze me so much with your consistent and immaculate use of ‘words’ the emotions you weave intersect within themselves and just explode… you inspire me to aspire to new heights… thank you so much for sharing your talent with us and well I cannot wait for more… mucho love and hugs, JC (Latin Nephew to those Salsa Angels)
Great chapter Taz. Barbara does not have a thing to worry about rgarding Tina and her husband. Tina is way past being the last person to want David in her life. She has the person that makes her life complete and then some. God that was high school, so over. PPS
Thnaks for the update. I am glad that David and Barb. are so supportive of Lydnsay. I look forward to the “Meet the Parents” again chapter and the “Parents meet the Parents” chapter. Oh yeah, and all the fun in between–LOL. PPS:o).
still loving the story…but u left a cliffie there so don’t be gone too long.
Young adults are so smart today. Wait until Barbara mets Bette and see the love between them and all her fears will fly away. thanks
Great chapter Taz! Barbara need not worry about David and Tina…it will be very interesting when all of them meet together!
I was psyched to see this update. I hope that she and Angie can work it out. PPS.
So glad Lyndsay’s parents were understanding. Barbara really has no need to worry about Tina. Maybe they should all get together. One look and B&T and she’ll know theirs no need for concern. Maybe Lyndsay will decide to persue her artistic talents. Man, I hope things work out for her and Angie
Oh boy Taz, what a way to leave us hanging, but I think we all knew what Lyns was thinking, as we were coming to that part I was thinking that the holidays are soon upon us and since Ange and Lyns are only children than somewhere, somehow there just might be 6 at the table. About the word, it is actually JC’s word and a wonderful word as he is a wonderful person. Thank you, Md
I’m so happy that the parents were ok with Lyndsay loving a woman! It can be a difficult revelation for parents, but as you portrayed here, if they really care about their child’s sole happiness and not their own feelings, opinions, expectations, they will put all that aside which may differ and love their child unconditionally. Thanks for bringing a difficult subject to life, and showing the other side of things, that parents CAN be accepting. More when you can.
What can I say? You have done it again my friend. Great chapter. You are a great writer and I love this story it rocks.
Wow and I get to comment after the Chickster.
awwwwww is MJ just the sweetest person you know… mwah… hehe… so yeah where is that update my friend… tic toc tic toc.. hugs, JC
Hi, Tazzie! *waving with enthusiasm* It seems you posted while we were away. It would be great to have such understanding parents. Not all of them care for their siblings’ happiness. As for gathering both families sometime soon, we believe Linds and Angie need to make their relationship more steady, so both may enjoy such reunion. Thanks for this beautiful update.
