    Angelica & The Artist – Chapter 20

“So are you saying that you don’t want to move forward?”

“No…..that’s not what I am saying.”  Lyndsay knew she would most likely only get this one chance to make Angelica understand, so she chose her words very carefully.  “It’s just that this is really complicated.  There are a lot of things that require careful consideration.”

Angie was getting impatient.  This wasn’t what she wanted to hear, so she blurted out her response.  “Like what?  You admitted you love me, and I know that I’m in love with you, what more is there to consider?  Do you see a future for us or not?”

Lyndsay simply smiled at Angie and looked her square in the eyes….she was not about to be intimidated by the hot headed young Ms Kennard-Porter……”Yes, I like to think that we have a future together of some sort ahead of us.  But…….Ang, my family doesn’t know about you, then there’s my job, which I happen to love, and the fact that I live in North Carolina and you live here in New York……….these are all things to seriously take into account before we make any decisions.”

Angelica thought for a moment before responding.  These were in fact all valid points that Lyndsay was raising.  “How do you think your family will react?”

    Lyndsay hesitated before replying.

“I’m not sure.  It will come as a shock to them for sure.  Hell, it was a shock to me that I could fall in love with another woman……but I have Ang.   I am in love with you.  It’s just going to take some time to sort this all out.  I need you to be patient with me while I do that, but you need to know that I don’t know how long it will take.  When I think of my future, I see you in it, but my life as I know it right now is in North Carolina, and yours is here in New York.  Ang, will you wait for me as I figure out how to do this?”

There it was…..the ‘will you wait’ question that Angelica had been dreading.  This wasn’t how she wanted it to be.  There was so much at stake if they attempted a long distance relationship.  Those were never good for any length of time.  To fully build a relationship, that day to day contact, the shared time together, that’s what helped build the foundation for any relationship.  Even with technology being what it was with emails, cell phones, text messaging, web cams……it still wasn’t the same as that day in and day out togetherness.  It wasn’t impossible to build a relationship this way, but it did present several challenges.  Angelica wondered if they would be able to overcome them and build on their professed love for each other.

    1. LOL Bette still thinks that she can pull the wool over Tina’s eyes, but was SOOOO Busted. Tina is the perfect person for Angie to talk to having been in a similar situation as Lyndsay and having delt with the Porter temperment for years. Tina should also talk to Lydsay and let her know that she can symphatise with her and her situation. Looks like there will be a little NC research done by Porter family. GREAT job Taz, PLEASE continue :o).

    2. Taz I agree with cpq on the fact that Tina knows the position that Lyndsay is in and can be a friend. Bette needs to leave the topic of getting Lynds to show her painting at Angie’s gallery alone.PPS.

    3. Bette is going to complicate things if she pursues getting Angie to show Lyndsay’s painting. I think Tina is the perfect parent for Angie to talk to about her relationship with Lynds. This will be a good mother-daughter bonding discussion because Tina can give Angie both perspectives. I’m loving this story. PPS

    4. Hello My Friend… so many trials so many paths to walk… I can so understand Angelica’s frustration… it did in fact take them a while to find each other after their first encounter and to her this is so fleeting… she does in fact have the Porter temperament down to a Tee (hehe)… I think this talk with Tina will help her see the other side a little more clearly without the clouds of emotions interrupting her thoughts… hmmmmmm… so tell me… what do we really know about Lyndsay’s family… there could be some dirty secrets lurking in there… I smell drama… they might not take to kindly to someone influencing their daughter in the “ways” that Angie has influenced Lyndsay… though it does seem like destiny that they have found one another… come on kidnapping… ransom… drama… you can do it… LOL… this is the best way to spice up Angelica’s life… I still think there is more to Lyndsay’s family then we know… something dangerous :P… as for Chapter 20… come on I know you have another 100 or so in you… cause you completely rock and roll… mucho love and hugs, JC Latin Nephew to those Salsa Angels…

    5. Taz can you tell me where to get a shot of that experience to put into the coffee for the mother and daughter talk? Your doing such a great job in that dept. as well as the rest of the story. I agree w/JC on the next 100 chapters or so. Thank you, Md

    6. whoa, ange, no need to get married yet!!!! just so slow down and enjoy getting ‘to know’ Lyndsay using the technology…sometimes its just too soon to be close together because they ‘rush’ into living together…slow burn is fine. Love your little story. PPS

    7. Well, the similarities between the two relationships are certainly there. It seems to me Angie and Lyndsay should talk to Bette and Tina for their perspectives. Hahaha…when Bette gets an idea, she just can’t let it go. Wonderful update Taz.

    8. I’m telling you a deep dark family secret and a kidnapping… come on…. you know you want to… and then you can Lyndsay, Tina and Bette going all James Bond to find Angie… and get her from the clutches of Lyndsay’s evil family Empire… come on you can do it… PLEASE… Mucho hugs and love, JC

    9. TAZZZIIIIEE! Woo Hoo! You know first hand how happy I am when you post. Yes, the “happy dance” comes out while I hold tightly onto the lappy, jump around the house and mumble thinsg which can’t always be understood! All good! LOL. Anyway, this was sensational. You had me worried on Page 1 and then Page 2. I trust in you, and though a LDR can be a killer (I remember those days all too well), with enough effort you can get so much out of it. If Angie’s feelings are genuine, and if she really feels this women has touched a deep part of her, then she will do what she can to give this a chance. I guess I tend to be that true romantic who will wait…and wait…and wait…LOL! However, I also recognize as I sit here today, that even with all the patience in the world, an LDR and the committment to be together is achieved only if BOTH parties are willing to do the necessary work. If Lyndsay is being honest and just needs some time, then I am happy to see Angie give her that. Love is an incredible emotion which can bridge distance and nearly anything. I hope that Angie can remain patient and give her the amount of time needed (I’m sure that “amount” differs in opinion by many). If it were me, I would give it at “least” a year…perhaps two. (I know, total woos!). Now for Lyndsay, she will need to communicate often to Angie as to how the “process” is going. If she just keeps telling her “I need more time” as the weeks and months pass, there could be a lot of tension and stress added to their relationship. Keeping those lines of communication open and sharing the progress of each small step she takes towards Angie will provide enough nourishment within their relationship to sustain them. ** PHEW ** Wow, long winded comment by the mistress here. LOL!!! * wink * Love and Hugs! Oh…and bring on more eh? XO

    10. There is just one word that Lindsay mentioned, which describes exactly where she and Angie are right now: complicated relationship. We understand why Angie is so confused. She has never been in love. Also, it seems that Ange has always gotten her way through life and now she depends on someone else’s. Tina has a more assertive way to give the proper advice to both Porter girls. However, now it is the time to learn more about Lindsay’s family. We know nothing about them, up to now. We think you have lots of details to unveil, yet Tazzie. Just let yourself go and take us along in the ride! We are sure the ideas will start to flow. We loved this chapter. PPS Lucero & Marsha (Latin JC’s Salsa Aunties)

    11. Bette, may need to back off a bit here. Ang and Lyndsay have a lot going on right now, I don’t know that they need the added pressure of Bette. Mama T, will help Ang understand, maybe she can even talk to Lyndsay,.

    12. This is very interesting. Angie needs to talk to her mother and Tina needs totalk with Lindsay as well since she has been with Bette all these years and knows how to interpret all the body language and the temperament of Bette and Angie is so like her in many ways. Waiting for the next update to see how they will resolve this little delimae. PPS
