He spun the steering wheel hysterically, but not fast enough, and with nothing to hold the car on course, the vehicle pitched off the road, arced in mid air and crashed to the rocky ground below.
Cheryl sped off, thinking that whatever photos or proof that he gathered were now destroyed. But she had underestimated him. The proof had already been sent.
Later that evening, Bette and Bruce went out for dinner, but not before Bruce was able to put something in Bette’s drink. Something that was going to weaken her birth control. Something that was going to make her forget all that happens tonight.

Did this man ever plan on waking up? Carmen stared down at Mark who slumbered on, unaware of her presence.
Frustrated, Carmen glanced around the poorly lit room, illuminated only by the light panel above Mark’s head and a ray of sunlight that peeked in through the tiny gap between the curtains at the windows.
Carmen: Come on, baby. Wake up and smell the hibiscus.
When that bring forth no response, she slumped into the chair at the foot of his bed, groaning at the poor construction of cheap metal and cheaper fabric.
Carmen sighed, resting her elbows on the arms of the chair and cradling her head in her hands. She hadn’t slept much in the last few hours.
Mark had survived the accident with only a face full of bruises, a dislocated left shoulder, and a sprained ankle. Things would have been much worse if he’d been wearing his seatbelt.
With nothing to restrain him, he’d been thrown clear of the car that had literally crashed and burned a few hundred feet below him. So much for “Buckle up for safety!”
Mark: Helena?
Carmen lifted her head to find Mark watching her with a heavy-lidded gaze. She tugged on the Chicago Bears cap on her head, her attempt at traveling incognito.
Carmen: You’re awake.
Mark: What are you doing here?
Mark’s voice cracked and he licked his lips, then winced from the pain.
Carmen: Helena called me. She said that you had been in a terrible car accident. How do you feel?

i just hope that Bette will be fine because with the stuff that Bruce put in her drink! i hate that man. And Carmen and Shane will meet! yes!

this story is so fun. I just hope that Tina doen’t jump to the wrong conclusion w/ Bette lying there naked. Maybe Tina will see that Bette isn’t herself and figure out that Bruce must have drugged her. Can anyone say “morning after pill”. I sure hope Bruce’s plan doesn’t work…..Please don’t let Bette be preggers. And Cheryl is seriously crazy pushing Mark off the cliff like that. Bette and tIna better watch out!

Shoot, Tina’s going to start jumping to conclusions, isn’t she? Love it. Bracing myself for drama, but I love it.
I know really know how roofies work but wouldn’t Bette be pretty blahhhhhhhhhhh the next morning as opposed to someone who is sleepy? Like maybe it would take quite a bit to get her to wake up?

Hey suc, Great to have you posting so frequently. i am looking forward to whatever changes you have in store as this is an addictive tale that just grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go. Good to see that Mark is alive and Carmen is there. Helena’s entrance was typical and sweet to see her ceoncern. Cheryl really is a wak job and needs to meet with a rather unfortunate accident. What the hell did Bruce do to Bette and will Tina be able to sort through this mire of deception and dastardly deeds. Question on my mind is did Bruce impregnate his wife clinically or the old fashioned way. Sick puppy! More please and taunt and tease me with this wicked wonder. Many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.
Well, marks has survived. A bit drama is quite good. But I hate Bruce really very much. I hope he will perish painfully. As well Cheryl. And I hope for it Bette has happened to nothing. Post quickly.
I love how these familiar characters are in these totally different settings! You also know how to have all these twists and turns to keep us all hooked! Bruce and Cheryl–grrr! And it must have been a shallow cliff that Mark went over to survive, but yippie! that he did! Sweet, baby, very sweet!
