    Alice & Tasha: Sappho Agape

One of the worse storms in recent years was now passing through. The forecast predicted massive thunderstorms, rain, flash flooding, and high winds. The storm wasn’t equivalent to a hurricane, however judging from the way the trees roughly swayed back and forth one could presume otherwise. The storm sounded angry, upset, and aggravated at the world. The sky was a dark grayish color and it was only when lightning struck that it would reveal a glimpse of the illuminated sky. The entire day was extremely dreary and gloomy. The gloomy weather could cause one to curl up under a blanket, pour a glass of wine, and indulge in a Netflix binge. With the exception of the sound of the crashing rain, the howling winds, and the crackling of the fireplace, the sound inside the home was deafening silent.

Like the storm she too was angry, upset, and aggravated at the world. Tomorrow would arrive in just a few short hours; a day she knew would come when she was first informed 7 months ago. A part of her felt like it had been ripped out and some unknown source beyond what we can see and touch was now punishing her for her past indiscretions. Four hours had passed and still she laid wide awake on her side of the bed staring into the fireplace plagued with so many thoughts.

”Now, why now it’s not fair, why is this happening to me,” she silently asked herself.

A host of worried thoughts continued to plague her mind and heart. When what she feared most crossed her mind a bolt of lightning flashed outside the bedroom window. For her it was all the affirmation she needed she could no longer prevent the inevitable from occurring. Suddenly an overwhelming feeling of emotions, sadness and heartache swept through her entire body; and like the Nile River the tears began to flow. Her heart was in pain. A pain she would never wish upon on her own worst enemy. It had consumed her taking a life of its own. Hell, it was damn near unbearable as the overwhelming feeling of emptiness spread through her body like a cancer. Laying on her side she turned her body and placed her head face down in the center of her pillow hoping to muffle her cries. She wanted to scream hell punch a wall anything to release the anger that consumed her. Instead she squeezes the side of her pillow and yelled as silently as she possibly could. After that much needed release she returned to laying back on her side ignoring her now wet and soaked pillow case.
