A couple of hours later Kit knocked on the door

Kit: can we come in we are dying here of anxiety

Tina: (smiling) yes Kit you all can come in now

The whole gang entered the room to meet Eve. John was sleeping on the couch

Tina: guys, meet Eve Elizabeth Kennard Porter.

Kit: OMG she is so beautiful baby sis

Bette: thanks Kit (smiling at Tina)

Shane: and look at those beautiful dark green eyes

Tina: she has my mom’s color eyes (saying with a sad voice)

Bette noticed the sadness on Tina’s face

Carmen: she looks like an angel just like John

Alice: he only looks like an angel sleeping (looking and pointing to John)

Bette and Tina rolled their eyes smiling

Dana: she is so cutie and tiny, can I hold her?

Alice: yeah right. Can I hold her first?

Bette: calm down Alice she is not going to run

Everybody laughed and Alice indignant sat on the couch

After a few hours the gang was ready to go home

Bette: (to John) baby, is getting late, do you want to go to aunt Shane’s place?

John: no mamma, I want to go to aunt Alice’s place (with a mischievous grin)

Alice: oh God!

Tina: come on Al you two are going to have a funny night

Alice: That’s what I’m afraid of…can I give him a valium?

Bette/Tina: ALICE!!!!!

Bette and Tina were alone in the room

Bette: I miss John, when he isn’t around everything is so quiet (laughing)

Tina: I miss him too. Ohh he is going to give a hard time to Alice, look, he forgot his teddy.

Bette: I hope god will have mercy of her (laughing)

Tina: I love the way John is attached to Alice

Bette: yeah they have the same age (smiling)

Tina just smiled sad

Bette: babe please don’t be sad, this is a happy day for us.

Tina: I know. I’m ok.

Bette: no, you’re not, come here (opening her arms to Tina)

Tina got up and sat on the bed resting her head on Bette’s shoulder

Bette: Tee, we did all we could, if she doesn’t want to know her
grandchildren then is her loss. We have our family, we worked so hard to get here, we are complete and we have amazing friends who care about us and love us very much.

Tina: I know. I just can’t understand how a mother can forget about her daughter like this. That kind of love wasn’t supposed to be unbreakable?

Bette: I know honey, maybe someday she will wake up and regret for what she did but until then I don’t want to see you sad anymore for that motive. I love you (kissing Tina on the lips).

Tina: I love you too

Bette and Tina were still talking when someone knocked the door

Tina: who could it be?

Alice: surprise!!!! (with a sarcastic tone)

When John saw her moms, he opened his 1000 watts Porter smile

Tina: what are you doing here this late my angel?

Alice: he misses his damn teddy, and he can be very persuasive when he wants something

Bette: that’s my boy (laughing)

Alice: no funny Porter, my neighbor came to see if I was torturing him, not knowing that he was the one torturing me.

Tina: here baby, your teddy missed you too and so do us. (kissing him on the eye)

John: can I stay mommy?

Alice: yes, can he stay? Please? I’m begging you.

Bette: no, you can’t, you have to sleep to be rested to go to school on Monday

John: why she can stay (pointing to Eve) and I can’t? (with puppy eyes full of tears)

Bette: John Gabriel. I’m not going to argue with you

Alice: look out Porter he is good

Tina: babe calm down, he is only going to kindergarten after tomorrow and he is already here, besides we missed him, let him stay

A few minutes passed before Tina came from the bathroom

Bette was breastfeeding Eve while Tina was laying on the couch with John on her lap rocking him

Bette: are you feeling better Tee?

Tina: yes babe, much better cuz all I need in the world to be happy is right here in this room.

Bette: (smiling) good to know. Tee?

Bette: who is going to take John to kindergarten?

Tina: oh I will ask Alice to pick him up
