    Chapter 3 A Party Invitation Previously: Tina, Alice and Marina are talking at The Planet. Tina – Say hi to Bette … for me. Alice – Sure … we won’t be seeing her this morning around here … She turns to Marina in gossip. Alice – Not if she took that hot blonde home last night! Tina’s smile fades.

    Chapter 3 A Party Invitation

    Previously: Tina, Alice and Marina are talking at The Planet.

    Tina – Say hi to Bette … for me.

    Alice – Sure … we won’t be seeing her this morning around here …

    She turns to Marina in gossip.

    Alice – Not if she took that hot blonde home last night!

    Tina’s smile fades.

    The Planet, morning: Bette enters the café and joins Alice at her table.  

    Bette – Hey!

    She sits down.

    Alice – Finally! What time did you leave last night?

    The brunette yawns.

    Bette – Umm … two?

    Alice – What about hot blonde?

    Bette shakes her head.

    Bette – Hot blonde went home. I was tired.

    Alice – No, I think you must be sick! Did you at least get her phone number?

    The gallery owner rolls her eyes, looking annoyed.

    Marina approaches them with a cup of coffee and hands it to her.

    Marina – Here it is!

    Bette – Thanks, Marina!

    She takes a sip of her coffee and the café owner sits down.

    Marina – Did you tell her, Alice?

    She turns to Bette.

    Marina – Your friend Tina stopped by.

    The gallery owner looks surprised.

    Bette – Tina?!

    Alice – Eric’s girlfriend.

    Bette’s face lights up.

    Bette – Really?! When?

    Marina – An hour ago?

    The gallery owner looks disappointed.

    Bette – What did she come here for?

    Alice – What else?

    Bette looks self-conscious.

    Alice – Coffee!

    Marina – She said that she had a meeting to go.

    Bette – Ahh …

    She looks distracted for a moment.

    Flashback, Bette Porter Gallery, night: Bette and Tina are at the artist dinner, looking at a picture on the wall. The brunette turns to look at the blonde and smiles as she reaches up to touch her hair.

    Bette: Oh … You’ve lost your earring in your hair, here.

    She gets the earring out of Tina’s hair and holds it on her palm for the blonde to take.

    Tina:  Thank you.

    She smiles shyly.

    The brunette returns the smile as Tina takes the earring and they look back at the picture.

    Bette – What do you like about this picture?

    Tina – It reminds me of … old times … fun times!

    Bette glances at her.

    Bette – What do you like doing for fun?

    2. I like this story. Tina is beginning to see her dissatisfaction with Eric. And Meg? She wants Tina to marry someone to be friends with her husband so she can have time to talk to her BFF? That’s a bit selfish isn’t it? Hopefully Meg is a better friend than that. Well can’t wait to see how this acquaintance between Bette and Tina goes.

      Wonderful story, and a very nice chapter.

      I see how hard Tina is fighting her homosexuality and attraction for Bette, that happens many, many times, and can go good for open-mind people who decide to live their lives and be honest with themselves without hiding from the rest of the world, and it can go bad for the ones who decide to live a double life or even worst to fight the ones that had the strength of coming-out.

      Anyway, Tina is in a ‘spiral collision course’ with her destiny, the future love of her life.

      Nice move Bette, so smart to invite Eric and Tina, Bette is cornering the blonde, and let’s see or rather, read what you will write in your next chapter.
