As soon as I sat down I felt like I had to get back up. That feeling I had all night was leading up to this apparently inevitable situation. I now realized why all the nervousness, just one look at this woman and I was ready to run out the door. She was that beautiful, I was speechless and scared.

” And I’ll take another Long Island Ice tea.” She said

A stupid smile came to my face, that was Alice’s favorite drink. Maybe I was wrong, maybe the nervousness I was feeling wasn’t because of this woman but rather I was afraid of being left here. If Alice it hit off with anyone and even more importantly with this particular woman I would have no way home besides a taxi and I hated taking them, and since they shared the same favorite drink there was a good chance they would like each other.

Or maybe over analyzing this whole situation was driving me crazy because now I have convinced my self that two people will ditch me because they like the same drink. I must of looked really confused because the bartender looked at me and asked if I was all right.

Suddenly my face felt hot and I knew my cheeks were red. When I looked over she was looking at me. “Umm” I stammered, I would like to order a drink”.

“What would you like?” the bartender asked

I again was at a loss for words because suddenly I forgot what I liked to drink and the more I tried to remember the more I noticed her staring at me, which made me more shy and unsure.

“I umI don’t know…I would like uhh”I let out an exasperated sigh

Suddenly she goes “She’ll have a cosmopolitan, my favorite, the only thing I drink when it comes to liquor.” Then she turned to me and said ” I haven’t seen you around here before figured I’d help you a little. I smiled at her and was about to offer my name when suddenly she was up and said ” sorry I have to get back to my friends they’ll kill me If I don’t get back with the drinks, I’ll see you around”.
