Tina: “Grandma? Hi, it’s Tina. I need your help with something”

When Bette woke up hours later, it was to a very aromatic house. She lay there for a minute organizing her muddled mind out of its hazy state. After gathering her strength she then swung her legs over the side of the bed, stretched, and started towards her door. She glanced at the clock on her nightstand, and was amazed to find that it was already after seven o’clock.

Bette: “I can’t believe that I have been asleep for four hours.” She said to herself as she exited the room.

As Bette neared her kitchen, she peered around every corner looking for traces of Tina. It made her happy when she glanced in her living room and saw Tina’s coat and briefcase on her couch. She then turned and followed the smells from the kitchen. As she got closer she heard two voices coming from the room. She wondered who was keeping Tina company. Bette was surprised when she looked thru the entryway to find Tina standing over her stove talking on her cell phone. It seemed that Tina was cooking something and talking on her phone at the same time. She stood back in the doorway and watched for a minute, entranced by what she saw.

Tina: “how long should I let it simmer? It has been on for 45 minutes.” Tina asked and stirred more of her soup.

Grandma: “It’s on long enough, honey. You can turn it off now.” Bette could the voice of an older woman over the phone.

Tina: “Ok, done. What about the pie? How much longer does it take for that?” Tina asked as she opened the oven and looked at the pie.

Grandma: “A few more minutes. Now Tina, who is this young man that you are going thru so much trouble for?”

Tina: “Nothing like that Grandma, I am just cooking for a friend of mine who is sick.” Tina said as she felt a momentary splinter of guilt slither into her mind. “It’s half way true.” She thought to herself.

Grandma: “If you say so, dear. I hope your friend feels better then. Now remember honey, take out that pie in about 5 to 7 minutes, alright?”

    2. Sweet, tender and touching. All of the stuff that makes a girl feel soft and mushy inside. Now if Grandma doesn’t approve that Bette is a woman, then just have Remy set her straight, okay?

    3. Well, I don’t think I’m the only one here to be totally crazy about Bette & Tina beginnings ! (lol)
I really enjoyed a lot your story from the very beginning and the very sweet way you wrote it. It’s full of tenderness and I love that !
Thank you so much – and please keep it this way !! ^_^

    4. Thank you, this is a refreshing new begining story of Bette and Tina. So many times writers seem to ignore the fact that Tina had a life before she met Bette (This probably stems from watching the show, because the writes of TLW have the same problem.). I am glad that you have included Kristen, one of Tina’s friends and I hope that she remains as part of your storyline. I also like Mac, he has more substance that any of the Eric”s that I have read. Don’t get me wrong, Bette is my favorite character of the show, but I think that the show needs to be more well rounded. Please continue.
