A Fresh Start- Chapter 1

It was the day after the Lez Girls wrap party.  The first outing of Bette and Tina back as a couple again.  Of them being a family again.

Bette awoke aware of being home and slightly hung over with Tina’s warm arm draped over her stomach.  She rolled over and slowly opened her eyes and faced her blonde angel.  She truly was the luckiest woman alive to be given a third chance at love with her soul mate.  Not everyone got a second chance at true love but a third chance was heaven sent.  She slid out from under Tina’s arm and lightly kissed her on her forehead and got out of bed to get some Motrin and water.

Thirty minutes later Tina stirred to the bright sunlight streaming through the patio windows and the open backyard door but no Bette.  She slowly got up and slowly got up and put her slippers on and walked out towards the backyard.  Tina reached the French doors and stepped out into the midmorning sunlight and saw Bette. 

Bette was swimming laps in the pool, trying to get more awake and hoping to be awake enough to surprise Tina with breakfast in bed.  

“Ah, finally feeling better” as she was drying herself off and she jumped as she felt warm arms embracing her from behind. 

“Good Morning baby” as Tina breathed in the scent of a chlorinated Bette.

“Hi T, you feeling ready to eat something, I have breakfast coming in 10 minutes from the Planet.”

“Thanks babe, I could really use some food in this stomach of mine.”

Thirty minutes later-

“T, why don’t you finish and I’ll clean up.  Angie will be here in a little while from Melissa’s and I’d like to get one mess taken care of before our little tornado is back”

Tina looked up from her fruit and yogurt and observed a serious Bette.  “Bette, what’s wrong?’

“Nothing T.”

“Babe, I’ve known you for over ten years now and I can tell when something is up with you so spit it out.”

Bette placed the empty containers in the garbage can, turned around to face the love of her life and with a contemplative look on her face.  “T, I know we tabled this discussion yesterday but I think we need to decide where we are going to live.”

“Babe, I”

“Wait, T.  Let me finish; we, you me and Angelica are a family.  A real true family together again and I think we need to be under one roof living together especially to keep a routine for Angie.”

“Bette we’ve been going back and forth with Angie for two years now, the only difference is when she’s going back and forth so am I or so are you.”

Bette looked downward and a tear silently ran down her cheek. 

Tina got up from her breakfast and walked to Bette wiping the tear off her cheek.  “Baby?”

Silence, followed by more tears now silently cascading down the brunette’s face.

Tina reached under Bette’s chin and lifted it up to meet her gaze only to be met with closed eyes.  “Babe, open your eyes, I need to see what you are thinking.”

Bette slowly opened her now reddened eyes to meet Tina’s hazel eyes and sniffled.  “T, I am so afraid of losing you, I’m scared that if we aren’t together then something will be able to come in and break us apart again.”

Tina shocked that Bette was opening up this much to her after the night they had had and the fact it was only 11:20 in the morning.  “Baby, there is nothing in this city or in this world that will be able to break us apart.  I am in this for the long haul.  I am yours and you are mine.”
