Chapter 81
The police come running inside.
HE has Stephanie backed up against the kitchen wall.
“I think you should step away from her.” Officer Scott says from behind.
HE turns around. The other officer takes him away and put on handcuffs.
“Are you okay mam?” Officer Scott asks.
“Yes, I’m fine.” Stephanie replies.
The other officer takes HIM outside. Officer Scott stays.
“You should think about getting a restraining order against him.” She says.
“I have thought about that.” Stephanie says.
Officer Scott leave and a little later there’s a knock at the door.
Stephanie straightens up and opens.
“Hi, I’m Doug Stevens, we spoke on the phone?” He says and reaches out his hand.
Stephanie takes his hand and shakes it.
“Yes, hello, please come in.” Stephanie says and smiles. “Thanks for doing this on such a short notice.” She adds.
“This is a very exclusive area, so we always make time.” Doug replies. “Well, I guess I’ll just start, I’ll take a look around and call you if I have any questions.” He says.
“Yes sure.” Stephanie replies.
He starts walking around taking notes.
At the hospital:
“Tina, I don’t think I’ll be able to play this weekend.” Bette says after a few minutes of silence. “It’s 72 holes Tina, if I make the cut, which I think I’ll do, and it’s a lot of walking, I right now, my breathing isn’t perfect. There will come other chances for me, I’m sure of it. I’ve proven good enough.” Bette says and squeezes Tina’s hand softly.
“I didn’t think of that, I’m sorry.” Tina says and looks in Bette’s eyes.
They sit in silence again for a few moments.
“I called Jessie earlier to tell her about you.” Tina says. “She started to cry.” She adds.
“Why?” Bette asks curiously.
“She feels that it’s her fault. That she brought us into this mess.” Tina replies.
“You told her that’s not true right?” Bette asks.
“Yes, off course. I told her we’re her friends and that we love her and that we would’ve done it again.” Tina replies.
“Good.” Bette says.
The doctor enters.
“Hello Bette, how’s your breathing?” He asks.
“It’s not perfect, but it’s good.” She replies.
“Good. I think it’s okay for you to go home if you want to.” The doctor says.

ohh i was not first this time :o( ..lol..you know they could call to the whole gang and start the move to the new house this weekend since Bette will not play golf and make a BBQ to celebrate they need some time without stress and have a good time together and Bette with the kids awww so cute and with Jessie Bette was great cant wait to see them with their own children..ok i know i have to wait..lol..another great chapter i cant get enough of your story LOVE IT..post soon Lauren and thanks :o)
