    Bette is back. A quick look at the Kennards…

    Chapter 32

     

    Bette missed on the first Tee today. Landing in the rough. She got a bogey on the first hole. Tina could see that Bette was angry at herself.
    On the second Tee, Bette looked over at Tina. Tina smiled and mouthed ‘I love you’. Bette smiles and then concentrated and the swings and hits the ball. It lands perfectly in the middle of the fairway. Bette looks over to Tina again and mouths ‘thank you’ back.

    Bette keep playing great. She has played Par on every hole except the first one. She is now on fairway at the 10th hole. Karen has also played well, she has played par en three birdies, so she is catching up to Bette. Bette is getting ready for a fairway shot, if she hits it perfectly, she should get the ball onto the green. She swings, the crowd is silent as they follow the ball. It lands, they cheer and clap their hands. The little white ball lands on the green. She has now a chance of a birdie.

    Karen wasn’t so lucky, she had landed in one of the fairway bunkers.

    Bette made birdie, while Karen had to take a bogey. Both of them played Par up to the 18th hole.

    Bette is getting ready to Tee off at the last hole.

    ‘I have wonI made it, there’s no way I’ll give away a 5 shot lead. There’s no way.’ Bette thinks to herself. She looks over at Tina a quick second and then swings. And as usual, the ball lands on fairway.

    Tina gives Bette thumbs up.

    Then Karen tee’s off, also she lands on fairway. They walk together.

    “Looks like we’ll be touring together again.” Karen says.

    “Yeah, it looks that way.” Bette says and smiles.

    “I admire you Bette, I really do.” Karen says. “I would’ve given up.” Karen says.

    “I did that in a way in the beginning, I just had to accept that I wouldn’t be playing anymore. But then my leg got better and better, and then I saw the possibility. But I couldn’t have done it without Tina. She has been my rock.” Bette says.

    “Yeah, she seems like a remarkable and wonderful person, you’re lucky Bette. Hold on to her.” Karen says and smiles.

    4. Well, well, Tina’s mother seems in the right condition and that’s great. But the father, god ! Next to this awful and stupid heart of stone, Melvin seems such a dreamy dad now ! I wonder what will be able to bring a bit of humanity in this man…

      Ah, it was so cute to see this more than ever amazing connection between our marvellous two during this last part of the tournament… So lovely, like Bette’s proud and happy speech at the TV interview too.

      Now, of course, I’m coming to stand in line with all your numerous delighted readers in the waiting of the romantic evening that will follow !

    9. Wow it would be something if Tina and Bette ended up going out to dinner and Tina’s parents were there!! that was the first thing that came to my mind after reading this chapter which was great as always… keep it up :o)

    14. I can totally feel Bette’s pain in her leg. I’ve played soccer all my life and I’ve had four knee surgeries. It takes a lot to come back from them and the legs will never feel quite the same. But then you learn to work through the pain and you still love the sport as you did when you started as a little kid.
