“Okay.” Was the only word Julia uttered as they sat in silence all the way there. Bette stopped at the beach parking lot. But it wasn’t a public beach, it looked secluded and private.
“Are we allowed to be here?” Julia asks.
“Yeah, I know the owner. Don’t worry, come on.” Bette says and starts walking down the beach. Julia follows. After about 5 minutes walk, Bette turns right and walks over to a rock, she jumps on it and motion for Julia to do the same.
“I used to come here during Tina’s pregnancy. I was so scared because I wasn’t biologically connected to them. That’s what you’re feeling, isn’t it?” Bette asks.
“Yeah, mostly… It’s just… Jessie is changing so much, I see it every day. And sometimes she seems so distant and like she doesn’t care.” Julia says.
“I know… Jessie is changing, she’s maturing, she’s becoming more of a woman. Tina was older when the twins were born, but I saw the maturing in her too. At first I was scared, that she somehow would mature beyond me in some way, but then… I just got proud, I was so proud to be hers. Proud that she was carrying our babies…” Bette says and smiles as she remembers.
“I am proud, proud of her, but still…” Julia says but is interrupted by Bette.
“Honey, you got the daddy blues… You’re scared… scared that you won’t be enough, that can’t provide for your family.” Bette says and put her arm around Julia. “It’s a scary feeling, I know. But you’ll get passed it. You love each other, and you both love that little being that’s growing inside of Jessie. But honey, don’t ever stop talking to each other. This situation… it’s important that you’re talking. Jessie only know and feels what’s going through with her, not you. You have to tell her that. Okay?” Bette says.
“Yes. I guess I am scared… That this little being will be dependable of me. It’s life is in my hands. I don’t want to fail him or her.” Julia says.
“You won’t fail. You’ll be a great mother to that child.” Bette says and pulls her closer into a hug.
“I hope so.” Julia replies and leans her head down on Bette’s shoulder.

Glad to see this update. Will Julia get pregnant after Jess has their baby? It would sort of be like Bette and Tina.
It’s nice to see after missing out on so much of Julia’s life, that Bette and she can have such a close bond and connection. VERY NICE Lauren :o).
