    Tina and Bette talk. Tina calls Jessie.

    Chapter 159

     

    Will falls asleep. Bette stands up and silently make her way to the door.

    “Come on.” Tina whispers and takes her hand.

    They walk into the living room, Tina sit down on the couch and pulls Bette down on, motioning for Bette to lay down, head on her lap. Bette does. Tina starts running her fingers softly through Bette’s hair.

    “How are you holding up?” Tina asks softly. “I don’t want you to bottle this up, I see you struggle with this. You don’t have to do it alone.” Tina says.

    Bette takes a deep breath.

    “I’m doing better actually” Bette says and looks up at Tina with a smile.

    “That’s great babe.” Tina replies.

    “Yeah. While I waited for the doctor, It gave me time to think about everything. I realized that I don’t have any control over any of this or the things that has happened to you in the past. It’s not my fault. It’s like you said. I don’t have that kind of power.

    It was that driver’s fault. If we hadn’t fought, the accident still would’ve happened. But then it would be someone else involved. “I guess I just have to relax more, enjoy life. And live life to its fullest. I don’t want to be a paranoid person, that’s not me” Bette says and looks up at Tina who’s smiling down at her with blinking eyes. She wipes a few tears away.

    “And just like Stephanie’s ex-husband, I couldn’t have done anything about that either, even though I wish I could’ve It was hard seeing her like that. It brought back some painful memories.” Bette says and take Tina’s hand and softly kisses it.

    “I love you so much. It will be better from here, I promise. You just have to be patient with me. I still have small roads to travel, it’s gonna take some time. And I still want to keep seeing Mackenzie.” Bette says and looks up at Tina.

    Tina leans down and kisses Bette softly on the lips.

    “I love you Bette, so very much.” Tina replies.

    “I’m tired, let’s get to bed.” Bette says and sits up straight.

    “Babe our bed is occupied at the moment.” Tina says and smiles.

    “Oh, right, I forgot. Do we still have those extra mattresses?” Bette asks.

    6. Stephanie w will be okay,to many peole loves her and three that really depands on her. Bette and Tina will have their hands full,but they are strong and they love those boys… thanks

    9. Great chapter…so sad for Jessie. She finally got adopted and now Stephanie’s been shot. It would be funny if Jessie wound up being Bette’s daughter. Please continue.
