“…I was out the other night at a little bar nearby and saw you there…”
“Really? I never would have pictured you as one to go to a place like Maynard’s.”
Helena smirked; “Yes well I couldn’t help but notice who you were with.”
Bette smiled; “Oh Tina.”
“Yes; I have Miss Kennard in one of my classes…you do know she is a student here at this school right?”
“Yes I am aware of this; she’s in my class as well.”
“Really?”
“You sound surprised.”
“Well I am….I didn’t know you were dating a student…”
Bette laughed; “Well I’m not dating her really…”
“Oh…” Helena said somewhat relived.
“Would it matter?”
“Well…it would be somewhat odd…she’s so young and…”
“Helena; she’s twenty-three…that only makes a seven year difference…that’s not much.”
Helena raised her brow; Bette couldn’t help but laugh; “Age is only a number; besides…it’s not that big of a deal; if you haven’t noticed there are a lot of teacher-student relationships…even in our very own school.”
Bette got up and picked up her purse; I’m heading down to the cafeteria; care to join me?”
“Sure.”
The two women walked out of the room and down to the cafeteria before their classes began.

In life; I have always been told that life is nothing with out taking chances. Most of the people I know say that I am too careful…that I would never get anywhere in life if I didn’t take chances.
I never thought there was anything wrong with being careful…like I said; I prefer simplicity…keeping life as uncomplicated as I could.
It wasn’t until recently I had realized…being careful really wouldn’t get me anywhere…
So I decided…lets take a chance…

During the lecture in class; Tina hadn’t paid attention to a word Dean Porter had said. Since she had met Bette; she couldn’t seem to focus much on anything but the day; well…morning she had met her; and her determination.
Bette finished her lecture and dismissed the students. All of them left except for Tina. She stayed seated in the back of the room. Bette was gathering her things; she looked up and smiled at Tina.

I don’t think that here goes nothing is the right term. Tina is about to have her world turned upside down. Is Helena disappointed because she wanted to date Bette or because of Tina?
