A Christmas Story Chapter 3 (Short Story)
Bette opened the door to the cabin with Angelica in her arms. They walked into the cabin, and Kit looked around.
“This is a cabin, this is great.” She smiled.
“Oooh a fireplace,” Carmen smiled. “Look, we don’t have to chop any wood. We already have some.” She pointed over to the wood sitting by the fireplace.
“Well I don’t know about you guys, but I’m ready to find my room and get some sleep.” Shane yawned and stretched.
“Let’s go find our rooms and get settled in.” Tina grinned.
“I need another snack,” Alice spoke up.
“Al—,” Dana whined. “You don’t need anything else to eat tonight. We’re going to bed right now.” She grabbed her hand. “Let’s go.” Alice and Dana went upstairs to find a room.
“Well I’m going to put Angelica to bed, and I’ll come back to help with the bags.”
Tina nodded. “Okay,” Bette leaned over and gave Tina a kiss.
“I want to check this place out,” Shane began to look around the cabin.
“I’ll come with you.” Carmen grabbed Shane’s hand as they began to take a tour of the cabin.
“I guess it’s just me and you girl.” Kit smiled at Tina. “Are you excited about this Christmas?”
“Yeah,” Tina smiled. “I mean it’s Angelica’s second Christmas, and this time with the whole family. We’re all together in this big cabin. We’re going to have a great time.”

Shane was outside smoking a cigarette and exhaled the smoke. She scratched her head and shoved her hand in her pocket. Carmen walked outside and saw Shane standing in the snow. She walked down the steps and walked up to Shane. She wrapped her arms around Shane from behind and rested her head on her shoulder.
“Hey, what are you doing out here? It’s getting colder.”
“I just wanted to smoke a cigarette before I went to bed.” Shane rested her body against Carmen’s. She flicked her cigarette into the snow and exhaled the smoke. “C’mon lets go to bed.” She grabbed Carmen’s hand, and they walked back into the house.

“Why are you eating so much?” Dana slipped into her sweat pants.
“I don’t know, I guess my period’s about to start.”
