The girls arrive at LaGuardia. Since the group was so large (5 of them), Bette arranged for a private car rather than a having them rely on getting taxis. Kit has a key to the apartment and the doorman as been instructed to let them up. The girls enter the apartment.
Kit: This place is cute, big for a New York apartment.
Alice: Where is her furniture?
Kit: Well I don’t think she entertains much probably figures why bother.
Shane: There’s a couch and it looks like a sleeper too. Carmen, will this work for us?
Carmen: Sure it’s fine.
Alice: Come on Tasha let’s go check out the bedrooms.
Kit: Now this is obviously Bette’s room, it’s gorgeous.
Alice: Porter you dog; just bringing them into the love cove.
Shane: You know sometimes your are just a goof ball.
Alice: Ah, but I’m your goof ball buddy; you know you love me.
Shane: You keep telling yourself that, here.
Kit: Will you two stop it. Let’s go see the other bedroom.
Tasha: Yea Alice, guess that will be our room for the weekend.
Alice: Cool, let’s go.
Kit: This one is big too, cool bed.
Tasha: I like it. Cool platform bed, but kind of sparse; guest won’t be tempted to stay too long!
Alice: What are you implying dear?
Carmen: Stop being so sensitive Alice.
Shane: I’m kind of hungry, wonder if Bette has any food.
Alice: Please, she barely has furniture and our Bette never had food before.
Shane: Well looky here, well stocked. Beer of course. But great New York deli meats and cheese, can you say sandwich?
The girls get busy making themselves some sandwiches and also discover an assortment of NY deli salads too: cole slaw, potato salad, pickles. They are all enjoying this simple meal when they hear a key in the door.
Bette: Well, I see you found the place!
All the girls: Oh my god, Bette!
Kit: Baby sis! Kit follows that up with a tremendous hug and soon the pile on begins.
Bette joins in for lunch and the girls catch Bette up on things in LA. Tina and Angelica aren’t mentioned.
Kit: So what is the plan for tomorrow? Anything we can do.

Great update and I’ve finally read the two I’ve missed. I have a very strong feeling that a lovely blonde and her little baby girls will show up in thed crowd at some point. Wouldn’t that be lovely. Thanks for posting.
Bette: See I am wonderful after all. – LOL, nice one.
Bette’s getting her groove back, but she’s changing, too. She’s making new friends, her career is flying, and she’s more relaxed now. It’s nice to see. At some point, she’ll eventually be ready to have a different relationship with Tina. Right now, it should just be about Bette. One thing, though. I do wish she could see her daughter. Maybe, if Kit comes back for a visit, she could bring Angie with her, or Bette could make a weekend trip to LA sometime. Thanks for the update!
What a great chapter…..no bitterness from Bette….a bit blue perhaps but having Kit and the gang there really helps her not get too crazy. I love this story! Tina knows she is really missing something…….how you gonna make this work? Can’t wait to see!
Wow,Lwsho you could really feel the joy and excitment in this one of all the girls getting back together again. There banter was superbly written. Yes, Bette is surviving and thriving professionally in NY but personally it feels like she still longs for what she and Tina had before it all went wrong. Based on what Tasha said, so does Tina. How you get them back together again will be very interesting. I’ll be waiting for that next update!

Yep, I am agreeing with a lot of the commentators, it would be great if Tina showed up at the museum. But, I think its by invitation only unless Tina pulled some strings???????? As for Angie, I don’t think Tina would have left her behind, she’s in NY too. Great post. Friends and family together for Bette. PPS

This is wonderful. Bette’s rebirth is a great thing to see. I’m glad she’s managed to sort of come to terms with the end of the relationship and that she took the adult way out. I gotta disagree with everyone and say that Tina showing up would be bad. Bette needs to stand on her two feet, because the wimpy, beat-down woman Tina turned her into was not a happy sight. I think Tina is going to need to grovel a lot in this one. Thanks for the story. I try to about post-S3 stories because Tina was just such a bitch and it’s hard for me to see them together after that. But you’re doing a great job
