    50 Shades Of Bette Porter

"Cocky Miss. Kennard," she said half smiling, "more proud than cocky."

I felt my face flush as her lips formed a smile. She’s teasing me. I set my bag on the seat next to me and I started getting out my questions and the digital recorder. I set it on the table and I hesitated.

"Sorry, I’ve never done this before."

    "It’s fine, take your time."

"Do you mind if I record you?"

"Not at all. Considering you’ve already set up your recorder," she said with a sly smile.

I could feel my face flush even more. She was teasing me again. I felt really intimidated by her. She kept staring at me as I finished setting my stuff up. I hit record and sat back and caught my breath.

"Um, Miss. Porter, what sparked your interest in art?"

"Please Miss. Kennard, call me Bette," she said and smiled, I squirmed under her glare, "I was introduced to art at a young age. My parent’s home is filled with art. Paintings, sculptures and photographs. You could say that I was born with a paint brush in my hand."

She went on to describe her art. The kinds of colors, paints and brushes she uses. Her first art contest and her college years. At the age of twenty-nine, she had accomplished so much. She had four galleries of her own, and her paintings and photographs. She talked about her family and her aspirations for the future.

"You have accomplished so much, and at such a young age, what drives you?"

"People. They inspire me. When I visit all of my other galleries, I always take the time to talk with the patrons. I love to hear what they think and it gives me ideas. I love traveling as well, it’s the fuel for my creativity."

"Um," I said looking at my notecards, "do you have any other musings? Fuel for creativity?"

    "How do you mean?"

"Um, I," I said thumbing through the cards, "like a boyfriend. You’re never seen with anyone. When you’re googled, there are never pictures of you with anyone. You’re either by yourself, or with family."

    "My dating situation is complicated."

"Are you gay," I asked, and I immediately turned red. I could feel my face get hot, that wasn’t even one of Alice’s questions.

"Getting a little personal aren’t we Miss. Kennard," she said, her expression not changing.

"I know, I’m so sorry, so sorry."

"It’s quite alright," she said with an amused look on her face.

"Ok, I think I have embarrassed myself quite enough for the day, so I think we’re done."

"Are you sure? I can give you a tour of the gallery."

"No, but thank you. I really have to get back. Finals."

    "I understand."

I gathered my things as quickly as possible. I could feel her eyes on me and it made me nervous. I kind of liked it. I don’t know why I thought it.

"Miss. Porter, er, Bette, thank you for your time."

"Anytime," she said shaking my hand.

She walked me to the elevator silently. I didn’t know what it was, but I was drawn to her. Something about her pulled me in. She’s was very rich, and a young entrepreneur and a brilliant artist. I got into the elevator and she stared at me. As the doors closed, I felt a sort of emptiness, there was something between us but we’re from two different worlds. But it’s time to get real, I’ll never see her again.

    1. As a lesbian I did read this trilogy and thoroughly enjoyed it. Although straight sex isn’t stimulating to me or appealing I think this story broke news the way it did for being so openly daring. So thanks for the lesbian version I hope it to be miles better.

    2. So I’ve been waiting and waiting for someone to take up this story from a TLW angle. I won’t voice my opinion of the original, but let me say I like your version, Olivia! Can’t wait for the next chapter!

    3. Excellent beginnings for this story. Thank you for taking on the challenge. Should be an interesting journey for our ladies. Please continue. Thank you!

    4. After learning a bit about the origins of the “Fifty Shades” trilogy (Twilight fandom), I knew that it wasn’t for me, all hype aside… But I’m happy to read your take on it. Thanks! :)

    5. I never read 50 shades of grey..but i gather is quite steamy… …and making it TLW style…even more “yummy”…..can’t wait what the next move Bette will make.
