“Spencer look out”

“Shit” I yelled right before I was struck in the face with a soccer ball for the second time today. God I just can’t seem to concentrate at all after the argument I had with Ashley earlier.

“Carlin are you ok?” Coach Fox asked me as I was holding my hand to my right eye.

“I’m fine I just need a second” I was able to squeak out, god my face feels like it is on fire.

“Carlin get over here now” She yelled pointing to the empty stop next to her “the rest of you continue running the drills Madison will lead you.” I jogged the short distance over to her and stood beside her, leaning over slightly out of breath.

“What seems to be your problem today Spencer, you’re not even paying attention to what is going on around you.”

“I just have a lot on my mind right now”

“Well you need to get it together I made you captain of the team for a reason, and it wasn’t for your amazing talent of stopping the ball with your face”

“I know I’m sorry, I promise I will get it together”

“Good now you’re done for the day I don’t need anymore injured players on my team.”

I tried to protest but coach quickly waved me off. So I picked up my bag and headed to the locker room texting Aiden for a ride home on the way. He responded back that it was fine he was on his way to the school anyways. I didn’t feel the need to ask him why because I felt sweaty and gross and just wanted to get in the shower as soon as possible. When I was done with my shower I picked up all of my things and went to sit out on the bench in front of the school to wait for Aiden. I didn’t have to wait very long before I noticed his beloved red mustang with the black racing strips pulling up. I wasn’t surprised to hear Aiden blasting some Little Wayne song. Rap was defiantly not my type of music. What surprised me was the passenger in the car with him, just my luck it had to be Ashley. As I reached the car door Ashley seem to finally notice who Aiden was picking up. She turned and seemed to say something to him before opening up the door, stepping out and moved to get in the back seat.
