”What’d you get Madison?”  Kyla asked peering across her living room.

”She’s always talking about Fall Out Boy and how much she loves them so I got her some tickets to their upcoming LA concert in January.”  Aiden seemed pretty content with himself as he grinned.  He never was good with picking out gifts but somehow he thinks he got this one right.

“Wow, she’s definitely gonna love that.”  The young brunette fiddled with the chair’s armrest.

“I hope so.  What’d you get Kase?”  The boy couldn’t hold back, curiosity got the best of him.

“Well…”  Her bashful demeanor was emphasized by a shy grin and a light blush creeping up her cheeks.

“ACDC!?”  Kasey pointed her pick at Ashley who shook her head.  “Skid Row?”  Again, she shook her head.

Ashley played the intro of the song again on her guitar.  “The Ataris!  Argh shit, how could I have missed that!”  Kasey brought a hand up to her own forehead and smacked herself.

“Alright, play something.”  Ashley urged her on.  Kasey nodded shouldering her guitar strap and plugging into the amp.  She raised the overdrive and stuck a chord to make sure it was in tune.  She began picking a familiar riff when Ashley’s face lit up.

“I can’t believe you know how to play that!”  Ashley slapped her knee.  She loved this song.  “Roxette!”

Kasey nodded continuing to play the song to Ashley’s delight.  She quickly changed from Roxette’s ‘Dressed for Success’ to the intro of ‘She’s Got the Look’.  The two loved to jam together; it was an escape of sorts.  Aiden occasionally joined in, adding a little beat to their riffs.  Often they played bits and pieces of certain tunes, letting the other guess what it was.

“Yep, Roxette’s awesome.  I never knew you liked her though.”  Kasey laughed striking her last chord and setting aside her guitar.

Ashley continued playing an assortment of riffs and licks, smiling and chuckling in the process.  She loved the fact that Kasey had the perfect set up in her basement for this sort of activity.  Her father rarely told them to turn it down or stop completely; often he would sneak down and listen to them from the couch.
