You Only Live Once – Why Not Enjoy It – (Chapter: 2 – Welcome Back to the Grime)
“You should be careful, LA’s crawling with creeps like this.” Kasey lightly tapped the guy in the ass with her shoe, making him squirm a little more. The woman simply nodded and followed Kasey as she made her way out of the alley and onto the sidewalk. The short haired brunette raised her hand and within moments a taxi came to a screeching halt before the two of them.
“Let’s get you home.” With that said, the two slipped quietly into the cab as the woman gave her address to the driver. They sped off in direction of her neighborhood.
“By the way, I’m Madison.” Kasey looked over at the girl, only now taking in her beautiful features; a Latina with mesmerizing eyes, eyes that at the moment were seething in sadness, anger, and fear. “Kasey.” She reached out and gently shook the girl’s hand. Madison smiled mildly, thankful for Kasey’s actions. Hadn’t she helped God knows what would have happened.
Kasey turned to look out of the window, wanting to hide the crimson liquid that began seeping down her cheek yet again. She discreetly wiped the blood away and exited the cab as they pulled up in front of Madison’s home. She held the door open and held the young Latina out.
Kasey didn’t speak; she knew the girl had been put through enough tonight. She simply smiled and bid her a quick farewell. Madison quietly thanked her again and made her way to her front door. She smiled faintly and slipped through the doorway.
A vibration raced through her leg as she jumped up, her heart thumping wildly against her chest. ‘Christ spaz, it’s just your phone. Relax!’ She took a deep breath and exhaled calmly, re-entering the cab. She gave him the address to her place and sat back, answering the phone.
“Hey Aid.” She spoke into her cell as the cab veered left then right, then left again. Kasey shifted in her seat with ever twist and turn. “Kase, where the hell are you? I haven’t seen you in like…an hour!” He groaned music filling the background.
“I…Started getting a headache, so I split. I hope you don’t mind.” Kasey sighed, letting her head fall back and rest against the decrepit seat. “No worries, you could’ve stopped by to let me know you were leaving though!” Kasey could hear Spencer and Ashley ask if everything was alright. “Sorry Aid. Anyway, drop me a line tomorrow, we’ll hang then.”
“Sure. Take it easy Kase.” Aiden hung up as Kasey sighed, wiping a little more blood from her lip. ‘Geez, talk about incessant bleeding.’
