The blonde stared at the other girl for a few seconds after her confession, waiting for the punch line or for her to laugh. When she doesn’t Spencer lets out a laugh, holding her stomach.

“Oh that’s rich. You expect me to believe that?”

Ashley’s face was still straight, “It’s the truth”

“Then you’re a dumbass”

The brunette shakes her head, regretting her decision to be honest with her feelings.

“Ya know what? Shame on me for actually believing that Spencer Carlin had a heart” she said grabbing her book bag so she could exit the room.

Spencer made no move to stop her except responding to her previous rant. “If your boyfriend cheats on you why are you still with him?” she asks

This question causes the brunette to remove her grasp from her bag and stay seated.

She shrugs, “Because I don’t care”

“How could you not care that someone you love is cheating on you?”

“I don’t love him” she replies simply

“Uh once again…why are you with him?”

“Look, I don’t anticipate you understanding this but I’m with him because I’m expected to be”

“Politics” Spencer replies nodding

Ashley nods her head as well confirming.

“Well how do you know he’s been cheating on you?”

The blonde had to admit she was a little shocked at all this information, never in a million years had she guessed that she would be so dead on with her description of the girl sitting across from her. She was intrigued and curious of the details, whether she would offer her support or use it as leverage against her remained to be unknown, but she thought knowing was better than not.

“Well the first time..”

The blondes voice interrupted her, “You mean it’s happened more than once?”

Ashley could only nod, already in a trancelike state “Like I said…the first time…”

“Where is Aiden?” a seemingly younger Ashley asked a group of friends

The three girls she was standing with she had just met less than an hour before, in fact the only person the brunette knew at the house was her boyfriend of a month. It took all afternoon to convince the girl to attend the party, and she was still skeptical as they walked up to the door, an hour later and she was already realizing that it wasn’t worth it.
