Within Temptation – (Chapter: 48: Odd Party)

    Spencer’s Pov

Waking up in Ashley’s arms always made the darkest of days fill with light. I was glad Ashley and I talked things through. I would hate to not have her here for me when I so desperately needed her. I don’t see how kids go through divorce like its nothing. It really hurts. I don’t know what to say to my parents. I don’t know if my mom even wants to see me anymore. I have no idea what I could say to her or if I will ever be given the chance to do so. Only time will tell.

The next few days pasted quicker than I thought. Dad didn’t give us a reason as to why he and mom split up other than they weren’t getting along. I knew the real reason and I was so thankful he didn’t tell Glen and Clay. I am sure Clay wouldn’t blame me, but Glen is a different story. I didn’t want to lose any more of my family. My dad was amazing for always looking out for me. My cell went off in my pocket and I pulled it out to read a text from my one and only.

Ash Text: “Party at Aiden’s tonight. Still want to go?”
Spence text: “Of course. Pick me up?”
Ash text: “Of course. See u at 8.”

I tossed my phone on my bed and went spelunking in my closet to find something to wear tonight. 8pm came rolling around rather slowly. Ashley rang my doorbell and I ran into Glen on my way to answer it.

Glen: “Where are you off to in such a hurry?”
Spencer: “Party at Aiden’s tonight. Aren’t you going?”

He then lost his playful expression and had a hard look upon his face.

    Glen: “No. I’m not going.”
Spencer: “Ok? Is something going on with you and Aiden?”
Glen: “There is nothing going on with us.”

He pretty much stomped his way up the stairs and slammed his door shut. Ok, I will be sure to steer clear of anything Aiden related when Glen is around. In fact I haven’t seen those two hanging out ever since Aiden practically ran out of my house when I first got home. What ever. I don’t have time to analyze their every move. I have a beautiful girl waiting for me on the other side of my front door. I cleared the space from my stairs to the door and I quickly opened it to see the love of my life standing right in front of me.
