Why Superman Could Never Find a Phone Book – (Chapter: 24: “Elementary, My Dear Watson”)
The hum of the student’s voices began to lull, as most began to take their seats. Mitchell was a friendly guy, but he always wanted to start his lectures on time.
The tingly warm sensation began around her left ear and then proceeded to filter down her neck. Frowning a bit, Ashley’s head whirled to her left. She spied a group of stoner kids, amused by a game of hacky sac, each kick of the ball followed by swift fingers tucking long hair behind their ears.
Ashley leaned back on the railing a bit, subtly attempting to locate the purveyor of the look, knowing full well someone was staring at her. Immediately, the hacky sac careened out of control, rolling down the incline towards Ashley’s feet. She leaned over and picked it up, the red and blue patchwork fading, and the leather no longer smooth but worn and abrasive. Taking this opportunity to locate her stalker, she rolled the ball around in her fingers, the tiny grains inside the leather crunching against each other. The group of stoners began to head towards the front of the room, as Ashley tossed the ball to one of the boys who caught it with one hand and gave her a wink.
Glancing back up the walkway, Ashley saw a boy in a long black jacket with bushy brown hair and wire-rimmed glasses. He stared back at her sheepishly, his pad and pencil poised in mid air. He looked quite disheveled, as if he had just rolled out of bed and fell into his desk twenty minutes later. There was something familiar about him, yet Ash couldn’t place it at that moment.
He did not seem to be too concerned about being caught staring. In fact, to Ashley’s intrigue, his eyesight never left her direction as he scribbled frantically onto his pad. Ash grinned, envisioning Einstein in high school, stalking girls from afar, trying to impress them with his various mathematical theories, only years later realizing all he had to do was get them drunk. Of course, had Einstein figured this out early enough, his genius may have been overlooked, as he would then be known as “that creepy guy,” who still hung out at high school parties despite the fact he was 34 and theoretically could apply for social security benefits.

I really like your story but I think you should do something about all the jumping around in time in it because sometimes it’s confusing. Maybe you could write in fake dates for each of your posts or something.

To answer questions: No, I didn’t write a story about Shane. Also, I thought about writing in dates for this, and it is still something I may do after I am done. I understand it does get confusing in terms of time placement, however I did want this fic to be somewhat ambiguous; almost as if each post is just a moment in time, and we aren’t always sure exactly when it occurs, but we we learn about the characters within each vignette, and trust me, by the time the finale hits, you will understand everything. However, I haven’t ruled out the dates idea, fionapplefanatic15, so I may go back and do that…don’t be surprised if I implement this concept soon…and thanks for the comments and tips. It means a lot! *wink*
