Too Lost in You – (Chapter: 1)
This is my first time going to L.A. and I have to get used to this environment. My family and I just came from Ohio because my dad had a promotion and was offered a job here. Life here seems more real than back home, it makes me feel like I changed. I guess we’ll have to see right?
As my brother Clay parked the car in the school parking lot students were already heading to their classes. ‘Wow, girls here are totally hot than back home.’ Glen said stretching out his arms.
‘Oh shut up.’ I said punching him in the arm.
‘Glen, Spencer you better head to your classes before you get late. Try and find a map or something. I’ll see you guys at lunch.’ Clay said before gathering his books and leaving in the direction of his first class.
‘I guess I’ll see you later sis.’ Glen said walking away trying to find his first class.
So this sucks. The new girl in school and my brother don’t even help. Yeah thanks a lot.
I pulled up my purse and slowly jogged to one of the main offices. People looked at me with mysterious glances and whispered among their friends. This was getting really awkward. Few minutes passed by and I was sitting in the main office waiting to be helped. ‘Ehem. May I help you,’ this girl said behind the desk. ‘Yeah, thanks I need to find where my room is.’
‘new girl?’ she said looking up at me.
‘yeah?’
‘all right cool. What’s your class.’
‘Rm. 6 AP Calculus.’ I responded pulling out my folder.
‘Really, that’s my first period. I’ll walk you there. Just let me get my stuff ready.’
‘Cool.’ I said with a light smile. Yes I already have a friend. Good job, Spencer.
She ran from one side of the room to the other, I suppose she was looking for something.
‘what are you looking for?’ I yelled.
‘my lip gloss!’ she said continuing to look around.
I looked around the office and spotted her lip gloss on a table next to the phone. ‘over there.’ I pointed to the table.
She ran over to the table reaching for her lip gloss. ‘thanks. Your really good at finding things aren’t you?’ she said moving around the desk and stood next to me. She wore a mini skirt and a tank top and heels. She looked very rockish.
‘yeah I was good at I spy.’ I laughed nervously.
‘your such a dork.’ She said lightly punching me in the arm.
‘my names ashley’ she said holding out her hand.
‘spencer.’
‘we better run before the late bell rings.’ She said as she began to run to the left side of campus.
‘oh you were being literal.’ I said trying to catch up to her. I really wasn’t the fastest runner back in Ohio so I was trailing behind. She looked back and started laughing.
‘your so slow!’ she yelled out jogging in place.
‘thanks a lot. Slow down for me okay.’
‘yeah right! You better hurry up. We have….’ She looked at her watch. ‘1 minute’
‘oh my god.’ I said running a little faster. After what seemed like a mile we reached the class room right before the bell rang.
We both stood at the door panting. ‘you look nice today’ she whispered. ‘thanks you don’t look so bad yourself.’ I said smiling. Did I just comment on a girl I just met.
‘You ladies can sit down now.’ The teacher responded pointing to a table in the back.
‘I guess were gonna sit together now.’ She smiled.
‘yeah I suppose.’ I smiled back.
